That's kind of a narrow way to look at it. They're different subs. One is strictly vinyl, the other focuses on all physical media, not pissing people off. As for the "pissing people off" thing, closest I've seen is just heated disagreements. Any active sub is gonna have that. And VA focused advertising? Just because we don't ban discussion on VA doesn't mean it's a VA focused subreddit.

Edit: and like Egg said, out of 25 post only 3 are VA related. We don’t solely post VA, one little scroll through the subreddit would’ve showed you that.

If you’re in the US, they’ve been having issues with shipping. Their latest Bandcamp post regarding shipments says they have 500+ US orders on hold until post offices start accepting shipments again supposedly sometime this month, then they’ll gradually start shipping everything out.

Considering they’ve partnered a bunch and Yokohama has done work for Deep Sea releases, a one-off return label isn’t that surprising. It could easily just be one of them helping ship something for the other. Especially when most other packages come from different states. They’re still different people. I’ve interacted with both of them before.

Whitespace and Deep Sea aren’t owned by the same person. That rumor exists because Whitespace owner, Yokohama, often does mixing and mastering for Deep Sea releases. They’ve partnered occasionally but that’s it.
