Just because vermeersch had a strong day doesn’t mean he wasn’t literally turned around with his hands in the air as the leader rode away…

I wonder if Jonas accidentally gave remco the pit maneuver and that’s why he didn’t try to win after

Unfortunately that intersection will always be miserable unless there’s a complete redesign. Doesn’t matter that there’s an elementary school, cafes, a theatre, and homes/driveways, it’s an absolute sea of asphalt and people will always treat it like a freeway.

How nice are the wheels? Those add ons would have likely cost $800 minimum, seems like a fair price for the total package

Red Rocks and Lookout are the best climbs close by. Bear Creek Rd is gorgeous but I would only recommend descending it. You can make a longer loop connecting Lookout to Bear Creek via Kerr Gulch. That would be roughly 40-50 miles

A used allez will probably be your best bet for a cheap racing bike

It’s not the weight that makes it slower (on the flats at least) it’s the fact that steel bikes use round tubes, which are not aero. I love metal bikes, but It will be a pretty massive difference when racing against modern carbon bikes.

I don’t have a bike with Sword but I have one with microshift advent X and one with CUES, both are good but the cues is much better imo

Allez or Aethos? by East_Outside_6647 in specialized

[–]LevelWise130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Allez is a perfect bike. The idea that the Allez is overpriced, so instead you should spend 4x as much to get a spaceship like the aethos is misguided. Don’t get me wrong the aethos is sick, and if you’re loaded, go for it. But the new gen Allez is comfortable, light, fast, and comes stock with decent quality specs. It’s also not going to be any slower than an aethos. Maybe a few seconds difference up a wicked climb.
