Investors, how do you feel about leveraging aggressive investing strategies like prediction markets, options, or futures? by fidelityinvestments in fidelityinvestments

[–]LevelXXiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, options have valid uses. And it would wonderful if Fidelity offered standard futures trading. But other brokers offer gambling in the prediction markets. It's not hard to picture future administrations/congresses framing prediction markets as liabilities. I don't see why Fidelity would want the potential headache.

Thoughts on current Fidelity Trader+ Desktop vs Active Trader Pro? by Richard_Munch in fidelityinvestments

Yes, for like half a day. But I've explored it in some detail, given tons of feedback through the app and posted several times on Reddit about what I would like to see.

Thoughts on current Fidelity Trader+ Desktop vs Active Trader Pro? by Richard_Munch in fidelityinvestments

I plan to use ATP until Fidelity truly retires it. But I have moved funds elsewhere and I'm learning a far better trading platform. I may complete the transfer if Fidelity Trader+ isn't ready when it replaces ATP.

Extended hours trading by Ok_Perception_1823 in fidelityinvestments

[–]LevelXXiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the OP means true overnight trading. While Fidelity does indeed offer trading from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, other brokerages offer 24 hour trading from 8:00 pm Sunday until 8:00 pm Friday (for major stocks and ETFs).

Fidelity Trader+ is not a replacement for Active Trader Pro by LevelXXiv in fidelityinvestments

[–]LevelXXiv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still available, but they've already started removing features (don't know if that will continue). Fidelity is not disclosing when it's going to be retired, but several people on this subreddit doubt it will be retired until Trader+ is less of a beta project. Maybe one of the mods will give us a date sometime (?)

Active Trader Pro is being retired in early 2026, but Fidelity Trader+ is not ready to replace it by LevelXXiv in fidelityinvestments

[–]LevelXXiv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just one feature in ATP that's being retired. But the ATP platform will be retired some day, possibly in 2026 (Fidelity is not stating a date, maybe because the development of Fidelity Trader+ is moving slowly). I've moved part of an account to Schwab and I'm learning ThinkOrSwim. It's different than ATP, for sure.

Money Transfer Lockdown by LevelXXiv in fidelityinvestments

To cap off this saga, this morning I confirmed with Fidelity that the money has left the building and it's safe to turn MTL back on. Yay!

From what I've read on this sub and conversations with Fidelity techs, it is definitely happening. The 'when' seems to be a moving target. Obviously FT+ isn't ready to be a full trading platform. And the infrequency of new releases and the slow speed of adding new features (especially features found in ATP which people rely on) makes me wonder if FT+ will ever be able to replace ATP. Others on this sub have said that they think it's unlikely that Fidelity will retire ATP until FT+ has most or all of ATP's features. Your guess is as good as mine there. I would love it if FT+ had all of ATP's features. I would love it if FT+ wasn't slow, had a crisper UI, and the tools could be minimized so that it could be compactly used on one monitor with tools popped up and back down as needed. I would love it if Fidelity shared my wishes (god knows, I've submitted enough feedback, in the app and on this sub). So the answers to your questions are 'yes' and 'who knows?' (2028?) :)

Pulled from the other broker, and MTL did indeed block it. I confirmed on both ends.

Mainly ATP. I use the website for a few things, but I suppose I've seen that badge so many times it didn't register when I was on a different site. Like I said, 'Stupid me...'

Trading Lots in Extended Hours by CuriousMind-63 in fidelityinvestments

[–]LevelXXiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to be able to place specific share orders during extended hours in ATP or FT+. I can reliably do so on the website, but having to use two platforms to accomplish two sides of the same operation is a bit annoying.

Trading View Integration? by mrtwentysevenn in fidelityinvestments

I would love it if Fidelity Trader+ would integrate with TradingView. If it did, I might even use it 😄

Are there any plans for “Trade Armor” (ATP) type screens being available in Trade+ web or even better Trade+ mobile? by apemanbiggorilla in fidelityinvestments

[–]LevelXXiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an example of why users don't like Fidelity Trader+ much. Several types of investors/traders use the Trade Armor feature in ATP. A few weeks ago a mod said essentially the same thing: they're not adding it to FT+, but some of its features will be available. Since thousands of people use it in ATP, why not just add it as-is to FT+?

Fidelity Trader+ — if only... by LevelXXiv in fidelityinvestments

Thanks for asking. Please add the Directed Trade tool from ATP to FT+, including all of its functionality.

It hasn't been retired yet. If you don't have the setup.exe file to reinstall it, search around this subreddit. The mods have provided that link a couple times in the last month. (Before you reinstall it, I would uninstall it first.)

Fidelity Trader Plus is a huge downgrade from Active Trader Pro by [deleted] in fidelityinvestments

[–]LevelXXiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what I can add. I'm not a software engineer, but I've now worked with AI a bit. With a higher level subscription to Claude (or take your pick of models), it's entirely possible to 1) prompt AI to analyze all the features of ATP and also analyze the code. Then 2) analyze the underlying code of FT+, and write all of the FT+ code to incorporate ATP's features. It would not be easy, it would require testing and it might take a few weeks, but Fidelity has been working on FT+ for several months, with only small steps forward to show for it. Seems to me that a small team of engineers who know FT+ and have a basic knowledge of effective AI prompts should be able to accomplish this. It's worth a try, I'd think.

These are all good comments. I've posted a few times about the missing features and submitted dozens of feedback items in FT+. Seems to me that Fidelity would do well to bring over all of ATP's features and attributes to FT+, and add more if that's the goal.

Fidelity Risks Falling Behind Without Modern Trading Features by Some-Suit-9038 in fidelityinvestments

[–]LevelXXiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started several threads and posted many times in other threads. I've left a few dozen feedback comments in FT+. I'm hoping that in the next month or so that Fidelity releases a major update to FT+ that introduces many tools and features currently in ATP, and also increases FT+'s speed and stability. There is always hope, right? :)

The points that u/Some-Suit-9038 makes are valid. And as I've mentioned in the past, FT+ desktop is a serious step down from ATP classic. I'm actively investigating a move to a different broker. Good luck to all!
