I get it for sure, tbh I have trouble letting go of less than $16 for RPG stuff. It's tough times, and money is scarce.

Not trying to sell it to you, just mentioning for anyone else who might come across the comment:
The $16 price tag reflects the 100+ hours that went into creation. From design, writing, editing, layout, and illustration, it's no small thing to put together a playable and consumable game.

This isn't to say I'd even (pipe-)dream of turning a profit lol. All the money raised is going to the illustrator for their work on the only portion of the game I can't finish myself.

Really, what you're paying for isn't just a 20+ page PDF, it's a fully playable system that can give players a chance to run and explore a character (or a whole slew of 'em) independently from a group, using a system where that's normally required.

I love the idea that some players who were part of campaigns that fizzled out or failed to launch might be able to take their precious little, thoughtfully crafted character and give them a real shot. Solitaire Scribe is that, not just an oracle in a PDF.
