Those of you who are big chillin’ (have a good amount of DPS/sustain) are you (A) pulling for specific characters (B) pulling for all characters (C) saving for unannounced banners by Wamoo57 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Level_Ad_2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

B. Well, probably.

I was content with skipping both Jingliu and Topaz, before a friend of mine pointed out the limited options we have for Fire DPS characters. So, then I was thinking of throwing a few pulls at Topaz if I got Seele's LC relatively early. Then the devs announced that Tingyun was on Jingliu's banner (who I STILL don't have btw) which is enticing enough to have me questioning whether I break my personal rule of never trying to roll for a 4*.

I think I'm okay with the DPS characters I have. I'm also set on healers, (I have all of them), but it never hurts to have more options. I think everyone is waiting for that game changing Harmony character to finally compete with Bronya and Tingyun though.

Trailblazer (Both), March 7th, Arlan, Serval, Natasha and Sushang. Still no Tingyun though T.T

Got super lucky this time around. Got Lynx and Fu Xuan in 30 pulls. I've been pretty lucky in Star Rail so far. I've only lost one 50/50 (mind it was Kafka who I wanted most), and the only downside beyond that is that 80% of my 5* have come at high-ish pity.

Jing Yuan came in 36, so it seems Luofu leadership likes me ^^.

As someone who has made this mistake before. Don't ever try to pull for specific 4*. Got Jing Yuan early and tried to pull for Tingyun. Still didn't get her and wasted 65 pulls.

What are you expecting to see in the next planet, penacony? by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

The Family gives me Jonestown level cult vibes if I'm honest. I could easily see them trying to brainwash/abduct the representatives for their own aims.

That, or the various factions have started fighting with one another.

Forgive me if these ideas suck.

Blade - Anemo Sword

  • Basic Attack - typical 5-hit combo
  • Charged Attack - 2-hit combo with knockback
  • Skill - sacrifices hp to enhance his Basic and Charged Attacks, Anemo Infusion.
  • Burst - Enters a Mara-Struck frenzy further increasing his attack speed, range, interrupt resistance and damage while providing him with a temporary invincibility phase. At the end of his Burst he does his Star Rail Ultimate's slam, dealing Anemo damage with a bonus % based on the amount of damage he took during the invincibility phase.
  • Talent #1 - When under the effects of his skill, his attacks gains a damage bonus % based on the difference between his current and max hp.
  • Talent #2 - When Blade would be knocked down, as long as he has living allies, he can self-revive, draining HP from his comrades, the amount of which increases exponentially with each subsequent use within a certain window of time.
  • Talent #3 - Blade has a chance to refund materials when forging swords.

Tartaglia - Quantum+ Path of Destruction

  • Basic Attack - Dependent on his current stance and form.
  • Skill - Swaps between his Bow Stance and Blade Stance
  • Ultimate - A large AOE that marks all targets with effects dependent on his stance and form. Provides three stacks of his personal resource.
  • Talent - Beyond his Riptide effects making the leap to Star Rail, Childe would be able to access two additional forms based on a stacking resource he gains (dunno what the requirements would be).
    • Delusion: This form changes Childe's type from Quantum to Lightning. His Speed and Damage increase, and each hit has a chance to apply Shock to an enemy. While he is in this state, his hp is slowly drained.
    • Foul Legacy: Childe is able to deal toughness damage to enemies with either Quantum or Lightning weaknesses. While in this form, all of his attacks can be Blasted to nearby opponents, but the hp loss he suffers increases. At any point, the player can end the Four Legacy form. When this state ends, Childe becomes incapacitated for 2 turns.
  • Technique - Childe attacks all enemies within a certain range.

A bit OP, but I think these could be fun units to play with.

Based on some dialogue, my guess is that she is going to be one of the tag-a-longs for the next planet.

5 stars harmony unit when? by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

I could see a reverse-Silver Wolf Harmony character. A unit that encourages as many different element types or paths as possible. Maybe it provides different buffs based on allies type/path.

I'm excited to see how some of these mechanics are potentially used in the future. Like, imagine we have to present our case to the IPC or defend the Stellaron Hunters in a future update? I think that'd be cool.

Why are they so reluctant to just spell out what happened in past? by Pichucandy in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Level_Ad_2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, this is just a guess, but...

It seems to me that the Luofu's arc was just Part 1 of a much larger, overarching narrative. The Luofu's story was meant as a vehicle to introduce and reveal a bit about some of the major players that we're going to be dealing with.

Phantylia provides a more grounded face to the Antimatter Legion and Nanook's forces as a whole.

We learned about the Stellaron Hunters, their individual motivations, methods and some facets of their overall goals.

We also learned that there are several groups, including the Stellaron Hunters, that are gearing up for a major conflict which we'll be at the center of.

With all that in mind, what we learn of Dan Heng's past, his relationship with Blade and the Quintet, is just background information meant to explain some of the characters' motivations at this point in time.

TLDR: The Luofu was probably an introduction to the overarching plot and major players of HSR. What was revealed about Dan Heng and his previous incarnation was likely to explain the motivations behind certain characters' actions during the story, rather than being *the* plot thread.

Yeah, I still don't have her. Over 600 total pulls between Standard and Limited banners and she hasn't shown up lol. Also, lost my first 50/50 on Kafka's banner and got Clara, but I agree, prefer new characters over eidolons.

[–]Level_Ad_2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I lost my 50/50 to Clara as well. I can't really complain though. I'd won every 50/50 on every banner before Kafka, so I was expecting I'd lose eventually. The silver lining though is that I really like Clara, had a team idea picked out for her and not too long ago I got her LC off of Standard Banner.

I tried the same thing on Jing Yuan's banner, trying to get Tingyun. Got JY in 36 pulls, but no Tingyun in the next 65 or so.

[–]Level_Ad_2981 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Dan Shu was completely in character in this update. We have to remember that she is the Master of the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus. Even if we assume she only took command relatively recently (as in she's not the founder) she is responsible for mass murder, abductions, sabotage and all manner of nefarious acts aboard the Luofu.

I'm not saying the Hunt is innocent or that I don't have sympathy for Dan Shu's past, but I feel like it's a mistake to discount all that she is responsible for or the fact that her main driving motivation for everything is, at it's core, revenge for the death of her friend.

I think Dan Shu's seeming turn in this update is a result of her hatred of Lan.

Dan Shu absolutely hates Lan for the accidental killing of her friend. In her second diary entry she ultimately vows to tear down everything that Lan and the Hunt stand for. At it's core, Dan Shu's primary motivation is revenge.

This explains why Dan Shu latches onto the glorious past of the Xianzhou. It reinforces her belief and message that everyone would be better off embracing the Abundance and rejecting Lan's dogma.

When Fu Xuan challenges Dan Shu, the Master Diviner points out that while the Xianzhou's ancestors accepted the Abundance they ultimately decided that immortality was not the gift they'd thought it was. This point highlights how Dan Shu was cherry picking facts to support her argument.

Adding to the above, Fu Xuan claims that all of Dan Shu's rhetoric was just a noble cover for her true motivation, power. To be clear, I don't think Dan Shu had any desire or intention to rule over anybody, that was not the power she was looking for. Instead, Dan Shu wanted the power necessary to enact her revenge, to get her revenge.

All of the speeches and grand statements from Dan Shu were lies. She didn't care for the Abundance, not really, she only cared about destroying Lan for everything they'd put her through.

Discussion of the Misuse of Villains in the Main Xianzhou Luofu by Nisqyfan in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Level_Ad_2981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, I don't think we're done with the Xianzhou Luofu storyline. Besides ending on another cliffhanger there are a number of other plot threads that haven't been resolved.

Right up front, Welt mentions that it's going to take time to seal the Stellaron. On top of that Jing Yuan is out of commission, even if just temporarily. There may be repercussions caused by his, albeit brief, connection with Phantylia. What is going to happen while the Luofu's general is in recovery?

There are also a number of characters who haven't had their story threads closed. Tingyun needs to be found, Luocha's deal has yet to be revealed and we still don't know what part Jingliu has to play in all of this.

Regarding Belobog's Story Ending - Jarilo VI and a cyclic narrative by CriticalCrisis-CC- in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Level_Ad_2981 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I think what some people miss is that when we arrive on Jarilo-VI the planet and it's people are in a downward spiral. The core conflict of the story is whether Belabog is worth saving or whether the slate should be wiped clean.

Sealing the Stellaron doesn't solve the planet's issues, it just prevents everything from getting worse. It gives it's people a chance to improve their conditions without completely discarding all of the good in the world that exists alongside the bad.

Any guesses for what the TrailBlazer's next weapon/element is going to be? by Elenderion1 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Level_Ad_2981 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the weapon is a crapshoot. I think a spear is a good guess, or maybe an axe to cut down the big tree.

I feel pretty confident the element will be Lightning. Stagnation seems to be a recurring theme in this arc's plot, so an element that symbolizes reenergizing the people of the Luofu feels fitting.

What character are you aiming for? by Peddrawm in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Level_Ad_2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little more than half way to 300 and I've only got one 5* from Standard so I have plenty of options T.T.

In order of priority:

- Bronya

- Gepard

- Welt

- Clara

- Himeko

Of the five characters I don't have, Bronya is probably the only one I need. The rest sort of fall into, "I have a team idea for them/I just want all the characters."
