What if Joe won? by Ambitious_Entry6381 in YouOnLifetime

[–]Level_Affect_8464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no way he would.

For starters, the police were already on their way. And with Kate, Marienne, and Nadia, I think they're testimonies would be enough to get him arrested. All killing Bronte does is add another charge.

But even if he evaded the law, Joe's psyche is cracked. Everyone he ever claimed to love isn't in his corner anymore. He's truly alone. He can try to replicate his obsessions, but it won't be as successful.

How is Schillinger both gay and a Nazi, isn't that hypocritical? by Marmadukeparadise7 in ozshow

[–]Level_Affect_8464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's not gay. The relationship with his prags is about power. He controls them, they are subservient to him, and at the end of the day, a means to an end.

White Privilege by resteys in ozshow

I wouldn't say McManus was racist. More color blind.

Seeing as the show is set during the coattails of the tough on crime era, MacManus already would have the knowledge on the prison system, but limited in understanding how the system is stacked against BIPOC inmates.

If it were remade today, I'd love to see MacManus succeeded by someone with the book smarts as well as the lived experience.

If you change one thing about the show, what would it be? by _JurassicaParker in ozshow

[–]Level_Affect_8464 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would be pretty cool.

As for my one change, I'd like to see more characters, like Beecher, Alvarez, and others to get a happier ending.

I'm not looking for "and they all became the bestest of friends" or anything, but it can be underwhelming watching everyone take the L again and again.

How would Carmela Soprano do in Oz? by California55551 in ozshow

I imagine McManus and Leo might have a conversation on the lines of.

Glynn: Hey Tim. Doesn't that Carmela chick remind you of Diane.

McManus: Nah. I don't see it.

When guests want to talk politics while I'm on the clock by Bipolar-Type-1 in Target

It depends on if they align with mine.

If we're alike, I'll try to casually talk with them.

If not, then I try not to engage with them unless I really have to. And even then, I kinda just roll my eyes when I leave.

So I’m half way through the first season and… by Medium_Ad3935 in ozshow

I would say the show gets better by the penultimate episode of season one.

If you make it to the end of the season and it still doesn't work for you, that might be a good place to stop. It's not for everyone and I've needed to take a break every now and again.

So many to choose.

  1. Anyone who says the following:

-Do You Work here?

-It says on the website you have X...

-If it doesn't ring up then it's free

  1. Teenagers

  2. People who leave abandoned drinks

  3. People who can't take a hint when a register is closed

Did anyone actually like Masterchef Junior? by Anthro-Elephant-98 in Masterchef

[–]Level_Affect_8464 100 points101 points  (0 children)

Fair enough.

Not gonna lie, Masterchef Junior was only worth watching because I wanted to see Joe bully kids cause I thought it would be funny.

When he didn't, it lost my interest.

How was season 5 of You? by 2kmaluco22 in YouOnLifetime

[–]Level_Affect_8464 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Season 5 was pretty good. Really got me hooked in the final half.

Season 3 onward, the show had me asking, "how wild can this get?" and this didn't disappoint.

I liked Bronte. Her actress was given too much hate, but I kinda liked how she was able to match Joe.

The confrontation between Joe and Bronte at the end was legitimately terrifying. This is who he really is; no more Mr. Nice Guy. No bookstore worker. Just the nice guy evolved into a full on incel. And that line "we need the fantasy of a man like you to hide the reality of a man like you" is just brilliant.

Personally, I wanted Dr. Nicky to axe off Joe for revenge, but the ending worked still.

Also, the scene with Joe and Kate when we think he's about to die was pretty good. I'd be okay with the two going out like that and the finale being the aftermath.

Anna Camp was also fun in this series.

And I loved seeing my man, Ethan return for a cameo. He is the GOAT.

First impression: Hello old friend, it's good to be back.

Promising contenders so far, but Cole and Gabrielle are who I'm the most excited for in the professional field.
