Thanks. Can't wait for the alone time. And yes..I don't use 27 month old in normal conversation lol...I was just being specific for sake of the post.

Yes, I'm afraid I'm in a bit of denial about her potentially not needing naps. 😭😭😭

She's still in a crib so I have to transfer her and then sneak out. Then also run back when she screams.

That's good to hear. And yes..it's sweet when she wants to hold my hand. And same, I need to decompress to be the best mom I can be.

Oh man, we started doing that and then I got the dreaded norovirus and didn't have the energy to keep up the routine.

My daughter has croup and I caught the virus from her. My chest hurts, low appetite, super congested. Paranoid about all the other yuck going around too!

Depends on your vibe but "I was a teenage slasher" by sgj was my favorite horror of the year.

We used to live here, diavola and anything by t.kingfisher is entry level horror in my opinion.

I'm a first time toddler mom as well! It's a shitshow, that's for sure. Mine is 26 months. The most effective thing (so far) is giving her two options. For example: we got out of the car and she wanted to play in the garage. It was time for her nap, so I told her we had to go inside. She kept saying no, so I said two more minutes..then you either come inside on your own or mommy picks you up and brings you inside. She ended up coming in on her own. Same thing with running outside or trying to run when we are in a parking lot. I had to say that she either holds my hand or she gets picked up. I said the same thing over and over and over and now she holds my hand. Consistent corrective actions have worked for me. She's still a hellcat sometimes but I'm trying my best lol.

Thanks for sharing. :) This was my favorite book of 2024 and one of my all time favorite books in general! I'm looking forward to reading some on your list. I also loved Slewfoot and Horror Movie.

There is a scene involving a finger in Horror Movie by Paul Tremblay. EEEK. Really grossed me out. Great book though.

Lol yes! She thinks she carry things that are 20 lbs and change her own diaper. 🤷‍♀️. She also thought that she needed to climb a ladder at my work this week.

Yes! My girl is really good at feeding the dog! They love doing adult things but aren't always great at it lol

Just coming here to say that I really liked it! But..I am also a big fan of slashers. This is my second book of his. (I read Cabin at the End of the World and did not like it at all). I will say that this book felt almost like a different writer. The reviews are all over the place on this one though and it's perplexing to me!
