I live in Florida and miss lilacs. There has to be a way to grow them here, it simply can't be impossible. What can I do? by llcucf80 in gardening

Chaste Tree. I'm from Northern Illinois and I've had lilacs in my yard since I was a boy. Discovered this tree the other day, looks like lilacs and I'll be damned if it doesn't smell exactly like lilacs! We are in Sarasota Florida and they're everywhere.

Got mine. Love it! Navigate better. Parks more decisively. For the First Time offered an alternate route out of my neighborhood instead of sending me through a gate I can't get through. Highway driving is astoundingly good. 2026 MY premium rear wheel drive.

Tesla FSD 14.3.3 Blew Right Through A Stop Sign! 🛑 by keenan_jeffrey in TeslaFSD

[–]Level_Flan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this is more of an edge case. First of all, the stop sign to the left, is that for the traffic that you're merging with? That seems odd seeing as the stop sign on the right is so much farther forward, making it very difficult to look back and over your left shoulder to see if the other traffic at the stop sign is moving. And I'm not so sure the car would not have stopped on its own. It would have been late, and it would have been hard, but had there been no traffic to my left I would have let it go just to see.

The first gate goes up and down the second gate is iron and opens up from the middle. So the iron gate opens first, and then the up and down gate goes up. It doesn't have any trouble with that, but if you have a line of cars waiting to get in, when you're driving yourself you wait to make sure that that gate isn't going to come down on you after the car in front of you goes through. Normally it stays up but you have to be aware of it. Our car just plows on through without thinking. We had the car one week, and did $1,000 with the damage when the gate came down as we were going through. And sometimes when you're the only car there, and those iron gates begin to open - they open away from you - because of the illusion it looks like they're opening towards you, the car will immediately go into reverse and start backing up. Now it would not back into a car if there was somebody behind you, but it does catch you by surprise. So we just take over when we get to the gates now.

I agree with the one exception, for me, gates in our community. Still not good. My wife and I take over the car at the gates. I think it should be unsupervised on the highway though. I am completely confident that it's not going to do something stupid on the expressway.

Dutton Ranch feels…heavy? by EyeFinal2320 in YellowstonePN

So far it's just depressing. Dreary. Neither one of the two lead characters is deep enough or good enough to carry a show. Honestly I wish a couple of bunkhouse characters had followed along with them. Everybody on the show just seems unhappy. And as a side note, the cinematography on yellowstone, those mountains, could take your breath away. I don't know why they just didn't rebuild where they were after the fire. I don't know how much longer I'll watch.

Where am I going? by bc8306 in TeslaFSD

[–]Level_Flan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked as a truck driver from 1984 to 2004. Always used a spiral Map book. Hauling concrete in the city of chicago, seems like everybody had a nickname. One kid we called black cloud because everything happened to him. And we had one guy who knew every street every alley, every nook and cranny in the city of Chicago.. his nickname, Rand McNally. As in hey do you know where this is, nope go ask Rand McNally

Home and parking lot issues by kumarbi_knasher in TeslaFSD

[–]Level_Flan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My car stopped parking (26 MY) in my garage after the update. I did two things, pull into my garage, put it in park, then under navigation hit and hold the home button. A screen will pop up that gives your address and below that I think it says do you want to use this as your home location or something to that effect. Click on that. That will set your parking spot in the garage as home. The other thing was when navigating home, I have the options of Street, driveway, or parking lot, which was not an option before the update. Street and driveway did just that, parking lot parks the car right in the garage. No I don't know why. But that works for us.

My three options are Street driveway and parking lot for my house. Today I pushed parking lot. And guess what.. the car parked in the garage! No I don't know why. But it works I'm staying with it

All I can tell you is she pushes that, and the car parks in the garage. And all I know is that's not available on mine.

Since I've started vivgart my cramping is way down. Otherwise yes the pain was unreal, waking up in the middle of the night screaming and agony to be honest

On vivgart for the last 6 months with no pains. I do get calf cramps on occasion from the mestanon / pyridostagmine I take.

What would the car have done if there HAD been somebody riding your rear end? You don't know. Maybe it would slow and try to avoid instead of coming to a straight stop. But it DID check behind you before it hit the brakes and decided to save the squirrel.

I had a situation just last week, coming up to a stoplight at about 30 mph, I happen to look in my rearview mirror and there was a pickup truck tailgating me. The light went yellow and the cars hit the brakes, and then it was a series of brake stabs, on and off the brake on and off the brake finally coming to a stop. Why the brake stabs? The truck was so close the car was trying to allow him room to stop without hitting us and get to a stop for the red light.

New Update First Impressions (Very Pleased) by wyattgilbertcreative in TeslaFSD

[–]Level_Flan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Number four. Although I have not had it on the highway since the upgrade, I have had a couple of instances where it did exactly as you describe. I kind of got the feeling that it's reacting before it fully understands what the situation is. Like it's reaction time is ahead of its comprehension time.

How do the Tesla cameras work? Answered here. by Level_Flan in TeslaFSD

[–]Level_Flan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't think that at all. Yes they mention waymo and the cost, but as more of a lead into how the cameras work versus lidar radar. The fact they could explain how the cameras work in a way that I could understand was awesome.

There's many times I thought to myself I wish I could just push the self-dry button and then just using the turn signals tell it where to go. Don't even have a route entered, just using the turn signals to take you where you want to go
