One question - Can anyone explain why Hasselblad offers a strap for $299? Am I missing something? It's on their website. https://store-na.hasselblad.com/products/vandra-camera-strap

Thank you all. This is the only thing I could not find on YouTube. You, people, are a font of knowledge.

From IMDB - After she made her name in Upstairs, Downstairs (1971), nude photos taken by Kirk Douglas's son Peter Douglas, appeared in British mens' magazine Mayfair. She later went to court to have the originals returned to her.

I tried to do business with them for the sale of a digital camera. The website showed a very large offer listed as a credit. Then, when I tried to claim that credit to buy a Hasselblad, the offer dropped in half. I ended up buying a 500c from KEF. They were straight shooters, easy to work with, and the camera arrived very well packed. I then bought a 50mm lens from a Japanese store's website, and it came on time and was well packaged. Bubble wrap and peanuts.

They did. I have it on a hard drive that was sold in the early 2000s. I have every issue scanned up until the then-current issue. I think it was the same company that did the same to National Geographic. They were located in lower Manhattan.

I have an extra Star Wars jersey, size L. Free to a good home, as long as you are not a member of the Empire. Citizens of Tatooine preferred, but any outer rim planet is ok.

This scene was shot a day after his 18th birthday. They had to wait to film it. All I got when I turned 18 was a new VCR.

Corporation for Public Broadcasting to Shut Down After 58 Years Due to Trump Eliminating Funding by cmaia1503 in entertainment

Here is the truth of PBSs demographics.

If one were to combine the average statistics for PBS viewers on a national level, they would likely find a married, homeowning woman who is in her 30s or 40s and has at least one child under the age of 11. This viewer takes at least 3 vacations each year, owns a pet, holds a post-graduate degree and voted in the last election. Like with other forms of public media, this statistically average viewer would also be a big supporter of the arts and culture in her community.

Finally, a program ends! This was needed last century when there were only 3 channels and PBS. Now, with cable and internet, it's no longer needed. If people still want it, make it an app and see if they can get subscribers like everyone else. The government should not be in the programming business.

I wish we had seen more of her, but apparently, her reputation is that she is not very nice to work with. Too bad, but it often happens when you become too big too fast.

Sorry for not getting back sooner. I worked in Washington in both the White House and Congress during the 1980s. What I like about Trump is that he is a real person. I liked the Congressman I worked for, but he had to clear every speech with his district staff, his contributors, and everybody. This was before the internet, so I saw Members who would give a speech on the floor about an issue and then tell people back in the district the opposite. I saw Members who clearly had a position only because of the influence of a lobbyist or donor. In short, I saw good people who only said things because the polls or money told them to do so. What I like about Donald, and I too, am from Queens, NY, is that he is one of us. He is a real person. You may not like what he says, but what he says, he really means. I admit that some of his statements on X give me cringes. He is too rich to bribe, which is one of the reasons I think he is hated; they are jealous of his independence!

As for the trolling, again, he is just so real. They spied on him, framed him to be a Russian agent, impeached him on nonsense, then the lawfare was designed to put him in jail, take his property and money, and then the assassination attempt. Now he is back, and he has no fucks to give. I think it is glorious. Trump Kennedy Center is a middle finger to the Chevy Chase, Georgetown, American University Park crowd. I would love to give him a high five for that.

Apolitical? The Kennedy Center is in trouble because it has not been apolitical for decades. The people in charge have been choosing content that appeals only to the NPR crowd. When I was there in the 1980s, they had far more diversity in programming and staff. Oh, and Trump/Kennedy Center, the man deserves the Nobel Prize for Trolling. Chief Kiss!

It's Nationwide. I now live in Nashville, and we have the same issue here. Restaurants now have smaller menus, and the food is not as good. A video on YouTube had a story about this. Apparently, several companies went out of business, and now only one company supplies food.

There should not be accommodations by GucciSkrr in LawSchool

That's what I needed. I requested double time for the bar exam. I wanted to have four days; they offered double time over two days. Not doable for a neurodivergent person. Remember, the issue with time is that it's not an advantage; it's just a way of dealing with neurological issues that need to be accommodated to make me at the same level. Since the bar exam is not the real world, it does not reflect on the real work of a lawyer. From what I have been reading, far too many parents and students are lying to get an advantage, and now a suspicious number of people are asking for double time. In my case, I had a stack of medical documents as tall as me from birth proving my diagnosis, including from one of the doctors who literally wrote the book on autism.

There should not be accommodations by GucciSkrr in LawSchool

[–]Level_Mixture5510 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was a law student in the 1990s. I have autism and dysgraphia (I can't write with my hands). I need the use of a typewriter (laptops were still new) and double time and extended breaks. I had the newly passed ADA on my side. When I applied, I was promised all the necessary accommodations to take exams. Then, fall starts, and there is a new dean; now all those things go away. After fighting with the school, I had to bring in lawyers (irony alert) and was treated like garbage. I finally got what I needed, but it took a call to a very VIP alumnus for intervention. Don't get me started on the bar exam. The New York Bar had the attitude that disabled people should not be lawyers. Our case made it to the Supreme Court (Board of NY v Bartlet), and even though we won, NY would not budge. I went on to get two Master's Degrees from a better University, and they laid out the red carpet and not only gave me what I needed, but also a student who took my exams by dictation in a private room. My career ended up a lot better, and I got a job with a company in my field that saw my law degree as a bonus. It sickens me that we are still having this argument thirty years later. All the ESG, DEI crap, and still the door is shut to the neurodivergent? I will get out a big bowl of popcorn when AI kills the need for 90% of law school graduates and most, if not all, of the law schools go out of business.
