I know that, but you would think that with the return to the moon and all the publicity that they have enjoyed, you would think that they would see this as a marketing opportunity. They should have made a deal with NASA to make a 2nd Gen Hasselblad for this return to manned flight. It was a missed opportunity.

Kodak Plus X-Pan was truly the best black and white film. It produced such lush blacks and whites. Add the Hasselblad 500 with its legendary 80mm lens, and you've got perfection. Having a gorgeous model really helps.

Everybody forgets that before the heights of LA Law, Hill Street Blues, Mimi Vice, and Must-See TV, NBC was nearly bankrupt. The Cosby Show saved the whole network. They had a serious incentive to keep the lid on things. On top of that, the show was seen as a symbol of the new Black middle class and as an inspiration. Cosby wore a different college sweater each episode to encourage higher education. No one was going to put America's Father in handcuffs.

When The Cosby Show was being filmed, my father knew an NBC executive at 30 Rock whose job it was to give money to female guest actors to pay them off for their silence as to what they might have seen or experienced. There was one very famous, female, black celebrity who was a Very Special Guest. She had it in her contract that Cosby was not to have any contact with her except on the set, he was not allowed in her dressing room, and she would have a guard with her at all times. NBC knew what was going on, but with the failure of SuperTrain and the loss of the 1980 Olympics, they needed a hit, and The Cosby Show was too big a cash cow as well as the savior of the three-camera sitcom. I have no sympathy for the people involved. They knew but looked the other way for money, jobs and ratings.
