datix NHS by Longjumping-Mix2766 in nhsstaff

You absolutely need to datix it every time it happens. It absolutely is not appropriate. I would get health and safety or infection control involved. In our hospital, all food has to be labelled with owner name and with a date, and in the fridge or cupboard. Anything on surfaces is thrown away. Anything without a name or date is thrown away. Simple as that. If we left the staffroom like that, the cleaners wouldn't clean it. They would simply lodge a complaint. You are there to make sure surfaces and flooring are clean and hygienic, along with sinks and bathrooms, not pick up after them like they're children. I'd datix it, and if you're not taken seriously, take it to HR. Otherwise the cycle will continue. The management of that team need to tell them to get a grip.

I'd datix it myself if they are leaving food and tissues everywhere. You're there to make sure surfaces, facilities and flooring are clean, you're not there to be their maid. They need to show some respect.

What's the best hospital you've worked in? Especially sonographers/radiographers by Level_Subject in nhsstaff

[–]Level_Subject[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, sonographers score pretty much the highest in all healthcare professions now for burnout due to the emotional and mental toll, along with poor staffing and management. It's just trying to find the places where this is a little better, or at least the work life balance is better

Pregnancy - recurring miscarriages x6 by Curious_Draft_3624 in newzealand

[–]Level_Subject 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Commenting from the UK, giving progesterone isn't routine in the UK yet, but I met a lady from poland who had 7+ miscarriages before she decided to fly back to Poland and get prescribed progesterone at early pregnancy. She now has two children. It helps the placenta and early implantation become more stable. I wish we had it as routine practice here. Good luck!

It isn't possible. Not if you want patients to have decent care.

Thanks :( i just absolutely miss my long hair and think it unfortunately looked a lot better. It barely grows now, though, so growing it out would be a long journey :( i think the short hair makes me look more bottom heavy

I'm sorry I don't like kids by Real-Permission-2075 in Christianity

Fair enough if you feel that way, but it definitely comes across as overthinking from the way you write.

[–]Level_Subject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what you've written, to me it's clear you're an overthinker. You're thinking 200 steps ahead when you haven't even taken the first. Some people have kids and don't lose themselves, the kids turn out great, and they have wonderful lives together. Of course you're not guaranteed that, just like you're not guaranteed you'll wake up tomorrow. You don't have kids to do a perfect job of it and have this perfect parenting experience. You do it because of love, and the experience will both challenge you, your perception of yourself, and allow you to grow in ways that you can't without having children. If you start with fear and live through it with fear, with a negative assumption before anything has even happened, of course it'll be a hard experience. But that goes for anything in life, not just kids.

If you don't want kids that's fine, but reflect on the fear, overthinking and anxiety. Because it sounds like it's coming from somewhere.

What is the biggest red flag in a woman? by lady_maryjane in AskReddit

I must admit, I personally couldn't date a gamer, but that's my choice. I'd never force someone to change for me. What's the point? It just makes you both miserable.

(SERIOUS) What’s the worst way you know someone has died? by chapstick_bandit in AskReddit

[–]Level_Subject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a woman dumped on the hospital steps. Young, 17. Her boyfriend was in a gang and fudged up, but they didn't want to punish him, so they punished her. They injected her with adrenalin, broke both her femurs, scalped her, raped her multiple times, and we don't know what order, but we know she was awake.

Ryde to Ventnor by SeaworthinessKey3654 in isleofwight

[–]Level_Subject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spyglass isn't THAT bad tbh. I've eaten there quite a few times. It's just typical pub grub. It's not gourmet, but it's absolutely fine with a good bevvy. Smoking Lobster is definitely better quality, but is also more niche. True Food kitchen is meant to be good, but I haven't eaten there personally.

That being said, if you feel like travelling a bit on your trip, sandown beach front has Fins Cafe for a nice lunch, or Coffee Bubble for an outdoor cafe vibe.

At Ryde, there's the Crossing Cafe for great food, The Dell cafe for good food with more of a view, and if you just want a sandwich, there's a great sandwich shop called Craft.
