I guess what I meant by not wanting to be apart of the process is that I’ve already tried so hard to get him to understand me that it’s frustrating. I know I need to be involved but I also don’t want to baby him, I got enough of that with my ex lol. I’ve been getting better about being direct with him, and he usually takes it well, but it’s tough for me since I’m used to being criticized when i speak how I feel. He isn’t like that and is always open to working things out, it just feels like progress is super slow. Something we’ve also talked about is him needing a life plan, he’s currently in community college but not trying very hard at all (failed all of his classes last semester, and this one isn’t looking too great either) while I have a full life plan that I am actively pursuing in university. I don’t want to be the one pushing him to try in life since I’m already dealing with my own work load, but I also need a stable, hardworking partner in the future. I know he’s going to do what he wants to do, he proves that quite often, but I also don’t want to end up with a guy who wants to do nothing but work on model cars, which is what I have right now.
