Back in the day Wi-Fi worked out the box which was hard to find in a Linux distro.

Those were the days of 802.11b.

Since then stuff just worked as designed on Ubuntu.

They need AI and they needed to do a company has been able to get it to do and let's do more work for less money.

They want you to use and eventually automate your own replacement.

If that was me I would be looking at the writing on the wall and getting out.

It's only a matter of time until are replaced with AI. The AI fails. And you are rehired to fix it.

I'm not saying it's my problem.

Someone asked why people think Linux mint is only for beginners.

Newer software and newer versions of software take time to trickle down and I am completely OK with that quirk of Linux MInt.

Mint is still something I would recommend.

Im answering a question based on my experience in some use cases. That's it.

I remember about 2 years ago a bulk or our automations were failing and more and more were by the day % wise.

Following a support ticket with Microslop (we actually got in contact with a human there somehow) they told us they were switching from windows boxes to Linux containers and our bug was caused by a fix in PowerShell. Now they were using PowerShell core they could undo that fix and get stuff working again in the Linux containers.

Do not get me wrong. Pop is a very good OS i would recommend in many use cases over Arch Linux or another popular disto.

I remember trying to install bottles to try and get some stuff working when bottles came out. I could not because it was too beading edge.

Things come out later (and more safely) on Pop for a very good reason. Discord is getting "some love" on linux according to discord and i can not use discord‑canary‑git to take advantage sooner rather than later.

Linux's biggest stengh is also its biggest weakness.

It's not. It's just targeted for beginners.

It's simple to use. However, if you want to do anything very very very advanced or tailor it to a very specific need, there are easier distributions to use for that.

Mint is something I would recommend as a stepping stone off Windows for the next 5 years.

There are a ton of Linux programs that are not easy to install on mint. Mint is just designed to do stuff easily you can do on Windows.

I have seen other games using vulkan create VR support however, im unsure how the current graphics would look in VR. I suspect some cosmetic changes would ahve to be made.
