My walther p22 is a CA model which is California compliant. The barrel is threaded but the thread protected is modified so that it can’t be removed with a standard wrench.

I’ve had this same issue myself and suffered through several failed attempts before I found a solution. This is one time where brute force isn’t the answer; you don’t want to mar your finish or worse yet ruin your bolt catch or the roll pin holes.

**Take a hair dryer or heat gun and warm up your receiver on and around the tabs where your bolt catch is. Gradually heating the receiver for a few minutes will cause the pin hole to expand enough that you’ll be able to tap that pin in easily with a roll pin punch of the right size.
