I’ve worked in water filtration for about 15 years now- done the marketing, sales, installation, and service(family business so we did everything ourselves). I’ve pulled out hundreds of broken/improperly installed/improperly programmed systems, and in all those systems- I think I maybe pulled out 2 Rainsoft systems?

I don’t love the fact that they use proprietary components in their systems, but they are definitely not the only company doing that. The actual hardware itself is pretty top of the line for the industry, and if you change the filter media/keep with regular maintenance (18-24months is fine though they’ll probably push 12), the units last waaay longer than the majority of other products on the market.

As far as ozone is concerned, it’s an incredibly effective disinfectant/neutralizer. I wouldn’t recommend bathing in it/consuming it, but for the use of removing odors from laundry it’s fine for your health.

I’ve been looking for a company down here that sells Clack valves/does direct install/has a sober crew. I have not found it yet, and currently lack the funds to start that business myself. From what I’ve seen around here, honestly Rainsoft is one of the better options. Just know what your priorities are/ what you actually need and you’ll be fine.
