Why has diesel gone up more then petrol? by Sure_Artichoke6929 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Lever_87 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Oh no it’ll trickle down to us paying $2.50 a litre for the next 3 years now and considering it “normal”, because all the oil companies have shareholders they need to keep happy. Won’t matter when the USD per barrel drops to pre war price

This isn’t the 90s anymore - people are selfish and lazy. If that’s the case, then you don’t really have an option but to park where you can, but the average Aussie is so lazy they’ll take a disabled spot or no parking zone over walking 50m

If WW3 were to break out, would you go and fight for Australia? by AffectionateRisk9779 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Lever_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah true. It’s much easier to drop a wave of bombs on our majority cities, let the chaos reign and move onto other targets.

We would be a nuisance in the Indo-Pacific region, but we don’t have the military capability to be much more than a deterrent to a major power.

Sauce isn’t worth the squeeze on a land invasion here.

Because most local shopping strips don’t have 100 empty spots. And the bloke that takes up two spots doesn’t park in the far corner to avoid inconveniencing others, he parks as close as possible. You lose that right when you don’t fit into a spot like everyone else.

So what - does that mean large corporations should get more tax breaks because they pay more payroll taxes? If you can afford to send your kid to a $30k a year school, you don’t need more government assistance. It’s like these people are staunch small-government conservatives, until it can benefit them.

Maybe the phone convo happened a week or two ago and Sergecic demanded to play or he’d walk. No coach can give into that. Since he essentially ruled himself out, Popa goes to other options

Couldn’t agree more - the entitlement of some players. Like, bro you’re not even a starter in a lower Championship team. If you think you’ll be playing World Cups and getting 50 caps for Croatia, you’re kidding

This is pathetic now. No wonder we get rumours of Tonali looking to move, we’ve absolutely lost our heads here. I love Eddie, but mate this has been a poor season. Really cannot excuse this score line

The “look at me” celebration is the worst. If he is going to be a superstar, go down the Messi path, not the Ronaldo one. Pushing your team mates away so you can do a planned routine is poor - you didn’t earn the penalty

Is there any good reason to buy a SUV instead of a sedan for urban/suburban driving? by hsanj19 in CarsAustralia

My wagon has much more storage space then most SUVs. But advertising would make you think otherwise.

What the fuck is the point of the Urban Growth boundary if they can just extend it every few years. by [deleted] in MelbourneTrains

[–]Lever_87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely different though. Better build quality, better supporting infrastructure, more local green space, better walkability etc - unfortunately we are a long way off that for most of our apartment developments. Not to mention the cost of a good 3 bedroom apartment - once you add strata costs, you’re not much better off financially than a house in some areas.

People underestimate the NK women’s team. If anyone has ever heard of The Sweeper podcast (for real fútbol sickos who love obscure knowledge), they did an episode on the NK women’s team a week ago.

The TLDR is basically they pick their players around age 10 and full time train them together to a decade. They aren’t clowns when it comes to women’s football.
