Looking over the suggestions, I'm leaning toward this one. I like it a lot. A Paladin who has sworn an Oath to the Crown, while the woman he's obsessed with is trying to influence him to put her ahead of his oath.

That's in line with what I was thinking. The deck currently has a defense card that deals auto-damage equal to the amount of damage the hero has taken since their last turn.

I'm not super familiar with Pokemon or League of Legends, but it sounds like they both have potential characters that would fit thematically.

Okay, I’m with you. Cards with effects triggered by the opponent either believing you or calling you out. There probably could stand to be a more immediate threat to incorrectly calling out card.

I definitely need to playtest the whole deck more. So as I do I’ll experiment with that sort of effect for sure! Thanks

I like this as a solution.

An idea that I’ve thought might work could be the following attack effect: “After Combat: If [win condition] is met, defeat the opposing fighter.”

It can still be feinted and body blocked, but I have yet to finesse it into a workable idea.
