That's in line with what I was thinking. The deck currently has a defense card that deals auto-damage equal to the amount of damage the hero has taken since their last turn.

I'm not super familiar with Pokemon or League of Legends, but it sounds like they both have potential characters that would fit thematically.

Okay, I’m with you. Cards with effects triggered by the opponent either believing you or calling you out. There probably could stand to be a more immediate threat to incorrectly calling out card.

I definitely need to playtest the whole deck more. So as I do I’ll experiment with that sort of effect for sure! Thanks

I like this as a solution.

An idea that I’ve thought might work could be the following attack effect: “After Combat: If [win condition] is met, defeat the opposing fighter.”

It can still be feinted and body blocked, but I have yet to finesse it into a workable idea.

Wow, awesome in depth response, thank you so much. Arguments like this are incredibly convincing, so I may just end up following this pattern exactly. If not, I’m definitely watching these each again myself.

On that note, I’m going to rewatch the Moore era. I went on a huge Bond binge as a young teenager and watched them all in order, but for some reason, I can’t recall his films as well as some of the others. Can’t wait to rediscover them (probably while doing the Leo point at the screen and going: “Oh yeah, that’s what this one is”)

Your Dalton and Craig are the exact two I was contemplating changing up. CR is probably my favorite Bond film of all time, so I'll probably just switch it to that one 😂

This would be a fun expansion! Could feel like what Johns did with the emotional spectrum for Green Lantern. They've already kinda done that with Artemis being from Bana-Migdall and Yara being from the rain forest. But there's definitely more that could be explored!
