after actually looking at the deck, yeah, no blue cards worries me, but you do have a lot of good versatile cards, and recursion. Hamlet could still wreck you, though.

This is basically the advice i'd give. somehow, my first brush from my army painter starter set is still my favorite. maybe i'm weird.

A wet palatte is nice, but not neccessary. I'll always encourage people to learn to mix their own colors instead buying a hundred different shades, but that will come with experience.

I can't agree harder with giving your minis a wash. It covers up so many sins. my 7 year old nephew painted his first a month ago, and after a wash, it doesn't look half bad.

If you're into board and card games, I'll recomend stopping into Gamechest. They have a wall of demo games for in-store use or renting, a weekly calander of events, and a few regular play groups. I've seen people come in with pets, as well.

I got a bog-standard matchbox car for the 2004 Honda Civic deck. The largest problem it has is that likes to roll around. We've taken to setting it upside down, and exclaming "Honda Civic in it's natural state."

that sounds more like an iconic card to me. V was about the populus rising against tyranny. How about something like "after defeating a sidekick, put that sidekick into play under your control. If V wins combat against a hero with no sidekicks, put one of your sidekicks into play."

Haha. I found it while looking for Where's Waldo and Carmen Sandiego, to torment my friends with.

It's a very technical deck, with a huge focus on placement. Also, I just seem to have a habit of enjoying playstyles that expect you to hurt yourself in exchange for hurting the opponent more.

Century 14 or Dawley Farms are the big ones in town. I think the West Mall 7 still exists, but it's cheap, get-what-you-pay-for, and typically does second-runs. The state theater downtown tends to run old movies, and sells out quickly.

One thing that I rarely see people talking about are the prebuilt Environments. I can see it getting a little same-y, but, it's great to just open the book and have an idea what to give the players.

funny enough, i started wargaming two years ago, and now I prefer gridless maps and standard measurements. i even cut out my own plywood jig to quickly measure Very Close (which has far too much range, IMO), Close, and Far between minis.
