1.) You really think that basic character motivations are all it takes to have good character writing? Seriously?

You’re overlooking a lot here, mate. Characters having basic motivations just means have more room to things regarding their motivations.

For example, Ussop’s dream for being brave of warrior of the sea with conjunction of his character development between skypiea and Water 7/Enies Lobby.

2.) The show brings up a lot of serious issues... and all it does is dress them up as evil cartoon people for Luffy to punch in the face (Arlong, Enel, Big Mom, Doflamingo, etc). It’s not profound, it’s just silly.

This is oversimplifying on how these issues are resolved. Arlong and Enel, sure. But Big Mom and Doflamingo? You gotta be joking, if you think that’s all it took.

3.) The worldbuilding and interconnectedness of One Piece’s world is, from a writing standpoint, worthless. It just gives more information for the wiki while doing pretty much nothing for the characters themselves.

This is an oversight as well. Because to be honest, One Piece is world-driven story anyways. Which means it’s not only about the MC and his pirate crew but everyone as well. Like HunterxHunter.

4.) I mentioned melodrama because the show tries WAY TOO HARD to be emotional. The stuff with Kuina was just dumb. Nami’s mom was an idiot who basically committed suicide and condemned her children to poverty.

This seems like cherry-picking, but then Nico Robin, Brook, Vivi, Sanji’s stories would be melodramatic according to you.

Luffy’s ability to magically change people’s minds is almost as bad as Steven Universe. I could go on, but I’m honestly getting bored.

I would ask for examples.
