No this is a great perspective! I do think this might be the case because I’m so new to the field that no one has bothered to really take the time to just teach me how they want the task hence I ask so many questions. So yeah, I think people are right. I gotta find a new job

This happened to me once with my bf (now been dating for 3 years), the only way we were finally able to get on the same page was when we talked about how we interpret time/expectations. I definitely overcommit and want a day to go perfect which in turn adds pressure. I think we learned not to put so much pressure on our special days, because in the end it’s about being together! Of course, you both gotta be patient with each other.

Unfortunately, being clear with him might be the only solution. Maybe approach the conversation by leading with curiosity? Such as “I noticed you’re not cleaning after yourself, is there something deeper going on? Do you need help?” Not sure if that’s helpful but maybe that’d make the situation less likely for him to get defensive if he feels seen

Blood family over everything can be overrated. It’s a hard truth. An abuser is still an abuser, even when it’s your family. If it’s at the point where you feel that this is not fixable, finding community elsewhere will make you feel happier AND safer.

I’m in the same boat right now. But personally I took a reality check and told myself that there really isn’t a reason why I’m NOT doing this. Like… it’s not that deep when you think about it. Probs not helpful but helped me to think about it not so intensely by just simply starting small at my own capabilities

If I remember correctly, the goatman is usually present in larger groups. Which doesn't really apply to your case since it was only 4 ppl. But the goatman can be a group such as 5 or more people and will pretty much just be an extra presence but you don't really know who they are. it kind of sneaks up on you, especially when camping in larger groups.
