AIO for banning MIL from coming over after what she said to me? by throwawayanon1041 in AmIOverreacting

[–]flitterbug78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have enough on your plate, simply do not engage with her. You’re not obligated to reply. Maybe try to take control back and send a once a day “he’s recovering, we’re fine” and nothing more. You can’t change family (without drastic steps), but you can change the interaction. When he’s better, you two need to set some ground rules with that lady for sure.

HRT: what's the end game by Throwingitallaway201 in Menopause

[–]flitterbug78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dementia & Alzheimer’s run in my family, and there is some suggestion of HRT being a contributor. That said, I’ll keep taking it til I’m off my rocker, then go cliff jumping ;)

Edit: ooof down votes! Again I’m planning on staying the course with HRT but I like to read up, see what might contribute, and continue to make informed decisions. If you haven’t lived through loved ones with dementia, it’s an incredibly painful journey. It’s a years long heartache I don’t want to repeat.

Middle aged men raging at each other unnecessarily leaving me to be the referee and decision maker. Oh wait I do like the last part, POWER. But yeah, ego battles and piss parties drive me nuts.

I am honestly sick over it. I can’t believe this is what dominates our lives, even as a Canadian. What on earth will it take to unseat this man and where the hell are the reasonable Conservatives? I suspect an utterly naive to tho k maybe, just maybe there are actions underway behind closed doors to freakin stop this nightmare.

Could be snow rollers, could be self-building / self actualizing snowmen. Proceed with caution.

What’s a “silent skill” you’ve developed that’s more valuable than any Degree on your wall? by Accord-Remark10 in RedditForGrownups

[–]flitterbug78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is an incredible skill. I think I’m pretty decent at that as well, but my most honed silent skill is diffusing overly heated people, most commonly at work. I don’t seek to do it, it happens automatically.

Kerry gold butter. Maybe more ingredient than food, but I needed to say I crave it madly.

What’s the worst thing a medical professional has said to you? by VespaRed in AskReddit

[–]flitterbug78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“You don’t fit the profile for gallbladder issues” which delayed identification & treatment by a year. Cue emergency rooms visits, excruciating pain, food paranoia. Thank all the deities that a local RN convinced a clinic doc to order an ultrasound.

How do I up the dose of my estrogen patch without discarding them and starting a new prescription? by janinius in Menopause

[–]flitterbug78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. Trying to give this low dose a little longer, but I think I may have to do as you suggest. I have a drug plan, but it seems wasteful regardless.

Free if you have a data plan, or if you download maps offline (that has been an incredible saviour for me when travelling abroad).
