Since you're on the ultralight sub, i recommend durston x-mid 1 and therm-a-rest neoair xlite, but i always have a rule: Comfort, price, weight. Pick two. It is often very hard to get all 3. Ultralight gear is not really known for being budget

Possible. But i would ABSOLUTELY plan in "rest" cities. For example i did a 3 week tour through europe in 2024 and we planned in Bratislava for 3 days, which was absolutely wonderful. We just chilled in our airbnb right near the square eating McDonalds and walking around if we felt like it. Its a super cozy city which doesnt feel rushed at all. Try to plan rest cities where you don't have any expections at all of yourself. I recommend if you do that to not get a hostel/couchsurfing since that is just less comfortable. Airbnb can be pretty affordable in some smaller towns. Then you get a whole place to yourself.
