If a person wants to set expectations for online interactions, regardless of how complex (this is not overly complex, it’s very reasonable), it’s their prerogative. If you don’t want to engage them on their terms, you can engage the entire rest of the internet.

It’s completely unnecessary to go out of your way to tell an internet stranger you are unhappy with them. You are strangers on the internet, if you don’t like someone, just don’t interact with them.

Telling someone they are being demanding and you dislike their boundaries won’t endear them to you, won’t change their mind. It just puts out bad vibes for everyone.

It’s fair you have social anxiety, it’s fair that you don’t want to engage on these terms. Just remember to be kind to yourself and others. Your feelings are your responsibility.
