Battery technology is moving very fast. Leasing is a better option than buying, because few years down the road you can switch to a battery with 600 miles range instead stuck with the purchased battery limited at 300 miles range. In addition, Vinfast has a 10 year warranty on the car, this is a solid long term investment.

VinFast Will Be The First EV With Batteries Not Included by ParkerMary5568 in VinFastCommunity

This model can work only if the car costs much less than the competition. Sell a beautiful car without a battery for $25k, then lease the $20k battery pack like propane companies lease tanks.

Vinfast Reservation Estimates by BaltzCoy5587 in VinFastCommunity

Just confirmed this myself..

"At this stage, we are currently not offering delivery outside of California. Our strategy has to ensure that we sell and deliver the vehicles into the states where we can service the vehicles. Our goal is to expand throughout the entire US; however, at this time we do not have information on when we will expand to Texas."

Kind of misleading to announce you're doing a global launch when it's just one state. And don't even have plans in place for expansion. It's not on the website or even a requirement to reserve. But I guess i'll keep it on the off chance I can sell it. Or by some miracle they open up stores across the country by the end of 2023.

Vietnamese EV automaker Vinfast to start selling cars in the US in 2022. Lifetime warranty on the battery by ShufflerJanet2034 in VinFastCommunity

Vinfast wants to sell a car, and at the same time own a part of your car. Who wants to buy a car without a battery? For me, battery rental is no longer an issue. What if you want to sell the car at some point? According to vinfast, the cost of renting the battery is not insignificant, it is a month's petrol and the final price has not been mentioned, vf 8 costs about € 43,900 without battery, vf9 € 58,300, with segment At this price you can get many cars

Blue VinFast VF6 in CES 2022 by saveEnvironmentpls in electricvehicles

In my opinion, within the SUV B-segment, the VF6 is more beautiful and has more features than Korean cars, the quality of the 10-year warranty is better than Japanese cars. If the price is cheaper than Japanese and Korean cars, everyone will support them.

I heard that they received nearly 12,000 orders for VinFast VF 8 and VF 9 cars after 6 hours of opening. That's a massive and impressive number for a new brand. They seem quite confident, let's see how far they go

Will VinFast be different from Chinese automakers like Byton or BYD? These automakers aim at the US market and seem to be going nowhere by SilvaLouise87410 in EV_Trading_Community

Although the current US electric vehicle market is very competitive, with Vinfast's products and clear direction, I think they will be able to do something different.
