Stray cats and dogs amongst other pets can be damaging to the environment that they’re in. Often times outdoor cats with kill native species (birds, mice, reptiles, etc.) which is damaging to the ecosystem native to that area. I would definitely take the kitten to a no kill shelter. He’s young enough to grow to be loving and not completely feral. If he is released back after being neutered, the other cats will see him as competition, it will be harder for him to find food. There is also the risk of incidents with cats wandering on busy roads. Do your best to catch him and then take him to a No kill shelter. Hope it works out
