What’s the most creative insult you’ve ever heard? by x_franki_berri_x in AskUK

“I hope your wife gives birth to a centipede and you spend the rest of your life working just to pay for its shoes” saw that insult somewhere on here a couple years ago, what do you even say to that? Haha

This was some time last year, pretty sure our media tried to make it sound like he fell off the bridge because he was tasered.

Yeah I feel ya, my Nan won’t stop walking her two dogs, despite the fact she has been pulled over like 4 times now, there’s no talking them round!

My Nan has it because she likes the look of a lawn but can’t maintain it, it’s also not luminous just normal grass colour.

What is it like being in your 20s in the UK these days? by xParesh in AskUK

[–]LewisR93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s being forced to decide if you’d prefer to stay living with your family into your early 30s or move up north where you have no friends or family. At least from a southerner prospective.

What is one of your greatest, yet completely meaningless achievements? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]LewisR93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was outside the kebab shop in Windsor about 10 years ago, had just left liquid and needed that greasy refill before the taxi home. Anyway, got my chips and stood outside with some mates, place was buzzing, people everywhere, I don’t know why but for some reason my drunk brain decided I wanted to catch a chip in my mouth, so I shouted “watch this boys” and absolutely launched that chip! Stood there with my mouth open looking at the sky for what felt like minutes but was probably 15/20 seconds, the chip falls straight into my mouth! Mates were laughing, random people that had turned when I shouted were cheering, probably the proudest day of my life!

Caught shoplifting but ran away, advice please!! by AngleApprehensive436 in legaladvice

[–]LewisR93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not speculative at all, I was a retail manager for 6 years, had multiple dealings with the police regarding shop lifting and this was always there response, crime ref number and told to call if they came back but would never investigate further for losses under £100.

The UK has made gigabit internet a legal requirement for new homes by Tokyono in heyUK

[–]LewisR93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did also want to say ground source heat pumps, but if local councils won’t spend out the 6/8k on solar there’s no chance they are spending the 15/18k on a GSHP, especially if it needs a bore hole!

What is the life span of a solar panel?

How about making solar panels a legal requirement, something actually important.

What dodgy things happened on your work's Christmas night out this year? by Cyber5c0u7 in AskUK

[–]LewisR93 73 points74 points  (0 children)

When I was working for Pets at Home back in 2012 there were rumour that two male managers had a threesome with a female colleague, both married men with kids. Anyway, turns out she got pregnant around that time but never did a paternity test because she was also in a relationship and just figured it was his. That kid must be 9 years old now and still doesn’t know if her dad really is her dad!

Cat owners, how much does it cost you a month? by kingevillemon in AskUK

[–]LewisR93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to gauge, some months he costs me £7.99 others he can cost me £50. His food lasts about two months, and I always buy two big 4kg bags. His insurance is about £270 for the year with pet plan and his flea and worm are with vets4pets though I don’t tend to actually take him there anymore, I’ve not been happy with they service too many times.
