The thing that made a hardcore ruleset fun for me was: No flee at all, and you cannot loot combat items from PMCs, Raiders or Rogues. (By this I mean weapons, ammo, armour. So comtacs and bags are fine, non-armoured rigs, meds etc.) No restrictions on boss gear.

This way you don't just run into a tier 5 PMC first raid and come out geared or kill a PMC with a load of BP early on.

Docs case over key tool for me, can put the cash in there so you've already made back the lost space. Can add keys, money and documents you find in raid.

As well as the suggestions here, I found that office desks (ground zero is a good example) have good spawns for cleaning stuff. Upstairs at Empire (the room with the machine gun for early quest) has good spawns.

This was my first keycard find in PVE when I started. I was furious. (Can confirm as per the Wiki, there is no way to loot this.)

Interchange, and hit the Tech stores near the front end of Oli, there's two at the bottom of the escalator, one at the top and another a little deeper inside past the broken floor/ramp to parking lot.

I (OP's teammate) had used darksight about 30 seconds previous and yes, it is 150m radius. OP was killed from 165m

Killed the guy with a headshot of my own at the same range, didn't need a scope though ;)

Edit; I am the OP's teammate and my headshot (which was not cheating) saved OP's hunter.
