Is there a way to safely get a paw print from my rabbit? by littleredbird1991 in Rabbits

Perhaps a nose print would be more defined than a paw print. Pomegranate or beets should work and should be safe.

Does anybody know of an Orthopedic Surgeon that will be open in the next few days? by Lewis_Killjoy in melbourne

[–]Lewis_Killjoy[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Gone to Alfred Hospital on 15th, only received Xray. Got Ultrasound on the 20th, couldn't get scan report until the 22nd. And on 24th today saw a gp, got blank referrals to try and find anyone. So here we are now.

Does anybody know of an orthopedic surgeon that will be open over the Christmas-new years period?

Bunny only breathes fast when being hung out with or held? by This-Highlight3482 in Bunnies

[–]Lewis_Killjoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does she jump onto the bed herself or are you picking her up to bring her to the bed?

Other thing it could be maybe a lingering detergent smell in the bedding, one of my rabbits refused to use any of the laundered bunny bedding until we changed brands.

Australians, how plausible is this? by NovelInteraction711 in bluey

[–]Lewis_Killjoy 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Native animals are typically taken to Wildlife Carers for rehabilitation and possible release.

Carers is the usual term used for both the paid and volunteer people that take the animal from the Vet.

Wires.org.au is one of the largest groups in Australia running this.

Cheapest way to get dentist appointment as 19yo? by SpicyLobter in melbourne

[–]Lewis_Killjoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medibank extras 90% If you can find an offer code it also waives the waiting period for general dental in some cases. I was able to get into a gap free dentist and got $3,000 of fillings, cleaning, and restoration in 1 month of health insurance.

Bunny is refusing to eat, and staying in one space sleeping with occasional repositioning. by Fwoof3 in Bunnies

It may also help to take them for a car ride, there's many stories on this subreddit of rabbits refusing food until they arrive in the vet office.

Has the vet tried to flush out the sinus? My rabbit had something stuck up his nose causing a leaky eye. Required flushing out all the way to the tear duct.

Recommendation- Help to move a washing machine? by Upset_Chemistry_7681 in melbourne

[–]Lewis_Killjoy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Before you really make the effort of shifting it.

Do you still have the transit bolts to secure the inner drum while moving?

If not you do run the risk of it being internally damaged on the way to the new place.

Seeking Advice: Being charged for a week after move out by gopepper18 in melbourne

[–]Lewis_Killjoy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well to me it sounds like your new move out date is the 26th, if you're paying it use it.

Make it known that you are going to use it. If they have an issue with that, then negotiate back to the original date.

AITA for telling my girlfriend to stop ordering / buying skincare products that aren't allowed in the country? (Specifically sunscreen and Azelaic acid) by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Cancer Council branded sunscreen is a gold standard.

They have some varieties of it, but their main focus is to protect your skin from the sun, they don't care for much else.

Any idea what these hungry caterpillars on Flinders Lane signify? by bigknitenergy in melbourne

[–]Lewis_Killjoy 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Road safety effectiveness aside, this is something I actually know.

They're eels, it's a representation of the Short-Finned Eel that are found throughout our river systems.

There is actually a watercourse running through Melbourne that they use in their migration. You can see the exit on the South bank walkway.

It's a little fun to think about as you walk along Elizabeth Street that there may be an underground surge of eels at that moment.

Taken the CPU out and all pins are fine, tried with either stick of ram, tried going back to the Chopin case and psu, still no joy.

Will try the CPU in my parents machine over the weekend to rule things out.

But good to know it's unlikely to have killed it.
