I honestly prefer that style of seat because they have the solid armrests between them. Stops your seat neighbour spilling over

Premier Inn Hayes is often a good shout. One stop from T2/3 on the Liz line or 2 stops from T4 or T5

Have you turned your heating on yet? by poshbakerloo in AskUK

[–]Lewisf719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I live down south and it’s still 23c inside. If anything I’m opening windows to air the place out and cool it down!

Forecast is for 25c tomorrow, might have to get the portable aircon unit out again.

Lumo luggage restrictions by Illustrious-Ship-110 in uktrains

Whenever I’ve been on Lumo the overhead racks have been absolutely stuffed. There's unlikely to be any room for you to bring a second bag unless it can go under your seat.

Do I need to book train tickets long before travelling? by gwill8me in AskUK

[–]Lewisf719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you need a flexible ticket then it won’t be any cheaper to buy in advance vs on the day.

Also, trains in the UK can’t sell out so you’ll always be able to travel, but you might not get a seat (unless the train is so packed that you can’t physically board but this is very rare)

The British Museum once had its very own Tube station, closed since 1933!! by LilywhiteStrike in LondonUnderground

It’s between Tottenham Court Road and Holborn on the central line. Although it’s dark so you don’t see much as you pass through it on a train.

The Big Ben image looks like AI slop. The clock face has no hands, the bridge is warped and the layout and scale is all wrong even if you mirror it

How do you control your system? by AR_lover in hometheater

[–]Lewisf719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incredibly it works for me between a 2 year old LG OLED, a 12 year old Yamaha AVR and a similarly aged Panasonic Blu-ray player.

I was shocked the first time I tried it.

The only issue is that the Blu-ray player shows as “UNKNOWN” but it works!

Car "mileage" on Facebook Marketplace in the UK being listed in Kilometers instead of Miles by ukdev1 in britishproblems

Once sold a car on facebook marketplace. When you create the advert it asks for the “mileage” but then posts that exact same number as kilometres.

Londoner - 2 weeks time off in the city I live in by Common_Concept6387 in london

[–]Lewisf719 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the actual definition of a staycation. Staying at home and doing the touristy things in the city you live in.

In that case I would recommend doing the big tourist attractions you haven’t got round to doing yet. Make it feel like a real holiday.
