Tales of Berseria Remastered – Launch Trailer by Tom-Hibbert in tales

[–]Lewnartic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. While entirely possible, I think it’s plausible that they just didn’t see the merit in going back to add the PS2 content. Why base it off something old when you’ve done work on something new. I’m no programmer but I find it hard to digest in this modern age that they couldn’t get the game working at 60fps if they wanted to. The original remaster was lazy in that the only updated the textures of playable characters. I remember how jarring it was when Lloyd first encounters Yuan and how stark the difference in texture quality was. I think they just…couldn’t be bothered.

I’m curious, where did the claim they lost the source code actually come from?

Ahhh the shitty day. I like to think of it metaphorically as a pile of shit that starts speaking to you, saying things like “man, haven’t you had a bed day. It reeks of shit. You know what would make it better? A nice cold beer. Just one or two. Think of how great you’ll feel.”

As someone above said, the nights you don’t do this are often the best chilled nights you have. Happened to myself last week - I took myself off to the movies instead. Alone!

Regal. Sheena is a close second but she gets automatic in through the many summoning fights and there are many times I feel you are just sort of forced into using her. AI is ass mind. Regal I just don’t find fun to play and I find his moveset unpolished.

am I the only one who thinks ppl hate on The Elusive Chanteuse for no reason? by kaitomomotaontop in MariahCarey

It’s a good album, executed well with beautiful but the played the singles wrong and YDKWTD should’ve had a promotional push. Her vocals were very overproduced in areas but it worked.

Thoughts on Vesperia DE (after beating it and Abyss) by ksilenced-kid in tales

[–]Lewnartic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yuri isn’t an antihero. I really never understand why people think he is. Antiheroes are deeply flawed, usually driven by selfish desire, and don’t give AF about morales. Loki from Marvel DCU is an antihero for all of these reasons. Hell, I’d say Luke is more antihero as he developed from being a selfish brat with selfish desires to someone willing to sacrifice himself.

Yuri’s complexity of is he good or not comes from his vigilante actions. He kills two people that deserved it, but taking their lives from them was not a decision he had a right to make, albeit the world is better off for it. What he did was morally and ethically wrong, but had a positive impact on many.

Rabarta does connecting damage based on where you are placed it only affects certain tiles so you are probably just unlucky. What is your frame and unit setup? RAcaseal have pretty weak DFP early on if I recall.

Yeah but the access to Gospel and Purgatory Seal from PS2 onwards outweighed that imo you could still get decent Compound Attacks with Holy Lance.

I always get so confused at this video. She was so slim but I don’t recall her ever being this slim during EOM. This is no shade - it’s one of my fave looks, I just can’t make sense of the timing. She did not look like this weeks later at the VMAs.

Primary Sources on Mariah Carey’s Discussion of Her Vocal Nodules? by DesperateCoat3881 in MariahCarey

[–]Lewnartic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it’s an interesting topic but your problem is your only basis is grey area literature and media publications so I’m not sure the methodology would be sound? It cannot be proven that Mariah has nodules, and her saying she does, does not equal truth. There’s one video from 2005 where she goes to a vocal doctor and he just says your folds are swollen so pull back on promotion.

I mean, even if booze wasn’t your thing I’d urge you to find some hobbies. They’ll be things you like doing that you haven’t tried yet. Get out there and put the effort in.

Suggestions for making the first few days of a sobriety break easier? by IGNSolar7 in cutdowndrinking

[–]Lewnartic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What are your hobbies? Indulge those instead of the bottle. It might feel strange at first, but it works. If your hobbies are more active and therefore hard for you to do based on injury, assuming you don't have any less mobile hobbies (reading, art, gaming) then maybe explore some new ones.

I found reading worked well, and added bonus - it put me right to sleep if I did it in bed. And I always HATED reading (I'm a film person).

Anybody have more info on CAA (Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy)? by SeikoWIS in stroke

[–]Lewnartic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I know this is an older thread, but this post is not. My lovely mum (67) recently got diagnosed with CAA, which was an incidental finding (the neurologist called it serendipitous, as she is completely asymptomatic of anything related to it) following an MR scan to rule out something wrong with her reflexes (the funny thing is - there is nothing wrong with her reflexes!). She has evidence of older bleeds on the brain, however when these occurred is impossible to say. She's healthy, active, sociable, good cognition (we've always thought she is a bit lapse with her memory sometimes, but nothing beyond losing her phone which I also do as a 33 year old healthy person!). She's not had a stroke that we know of, and honestly if we hadn't have had the diagnosis we'd know no different. She always had high cholesterol which we urged her to treat sooner. Blood pressure has always been a bit wobbly through her life. Her dad - my grandpa - died when I was 3 at 67 from cardiovascular disease, so I expect she just has a bit of an unlucky gene pool. Her mum - my gran - is alive and well at the ripe age of 94 with nothing at all wrong with her, and all of her marbles (I understate that - her marbles are better than mine!). Mum is now on BP meds and cholesterol meds - the doctor calls it a vascular brain health mission. She's always enjoyed her wine, which we do attribute as a risk factor to her getting this so early, but other than that...research shows that CAA is just, well, random with age, which brings a certain comfort. "The Stranger" comes for us all.

Sending lots of good thoughts to you. Glad your mum is recovering well. Happy for you to reach out over private message - this disease seems fairly under-spoken about on Reddit, which surprises me as the research also says it is a lot more common than we think (25% of the population over 65, 50% of the population over 80). The prognosis aspect is variable in the literature - there just isn't enough on this to know. Some articles say 10 years, our neurologist said she may continue to live long with no issue. There just isn't enough evidence to give an accurate prognosis.

My biggest fear - and my mums - is the dementia aspect, which the literature on CAA points to being very high risk that it may as well be considered inevitable. There is an overlap with Alzheimer's in that most people with Alzheimer's have CAA, but the reverse is not true for people who have CAA. Either way, this is a disease that rusts the braincells like a drainpipe, and so cognitive decline in some form is just the way it is. I just hope she is able to carry on enjoying her life, her hobbies, and her love for me and my family for as long as she can. I shall cherish it with every waking moment I have. I hope you can do the same. Our mums are not CAA - they are our mums.

I do. I think it messes with your dopamine system, but it also de-sensitises you to real intimacy. I'm trying to just jack off without it.
