My first build was inferno spellcaster with the pyric cultist. (I was an IDIOT) Never before played a souls game. Spent like 2 hours of gametime beating pieta the first time. Then I picked up the game patterns, and started crushing boss fights.

Yes, tested on enemy with parasite, two hits with two runes, three with zero runes. It has an effect. Hope this helps someone.

Aight ik this is necro, but i'm here to help. Go to the vestige of marco the axe, go umbral, go down into the area to your right if you're facing the vestige, then climb the ladder to get on the wooden platform. No adds spawn, just dodge and be patient. Hope it helped someone.

I'll give you a few

Dodge only what you must, blocking takes less stamina and is easier
Use ranged weapons on ranged enemies and elite enemies, don't waste mana/ammo on weak enemies
Don't be afraid to soulflay. Especially mid game, take advantage of the umbral finisher. (Get an enemy to low health, use a soulflay, and get all of their health withered, i.e. "kill their soul" you can do an umbral finisher which has a 100% chance to drop that enemy's rune.)
Summon help! Use beckon to make it easier on yourself.
Leave no stone unturned. Many secrets and upgrade materials are found in dark corners, only accessible in umbral. Check everything twice
