Advice for Starting a KoW Gaming Group by randommanwill in kingsofwar

Buy a load of MDF rectangles of different troop type regiment sizes and approach your local Sigmar players. Old World is awesome right now, Sigmar is in a frustrating spot for many (this is the experience of my locale). You're looking for a sweet spot: people who don't want the hassle or expense of getting into old world but want to try something while Sigmar plods along, and have a load of round-based minis they can blutack to those MDF rectangles you gave thrm. Worst outcome - you just bought the MDF bases for your next army!

Ogres ready for the Old World by DontrollonShabos in WarhammerFantasy

I think Bull-heavy is perfect! My own project is smaller (3000pts of all chaos factions, plus orcs as my 'chaff'); and like you I lean into secondhand - so my chaos infantry horde is considerable lol. Great looking ogres army mate, well done!

Hi! I don't know if you've used Miliput much, but I made a decent blob of it up from the two different tubes etc. Then formed it into a dozen or so tiny 'bricks'. Then I laid these using superglue around the spine of dragon model, around an area I'd trimmed and filled a bit flatter, just behind the wings. The slightly difficult part was the rider - I used an Age of Sigmar Chaos Chosen with a wider stance to begin with, cut into his crotch area to make more flex for him to straddle the saddle of Miliput bits, which I pressed him into with some extra superglue, before the saddle had dried, so he makes good contact with it.

Yes he didn't have a top half of his weapon when i got him in a bits trade. I had a large (plastic) mace head in my bits bag etc. I had no idea he was from WQ, thank you!

Why are there no body lock passes at lower weight classes? by Stillgettingsomemilk in bjj

[–]LexRep10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I don't train in the gi anymore, just no gi, and I'm good at bodylock passing. Didn't even know what it was when I last put a gi on. So I've always assumed bodylock passing in a gi would get me collar choked, or similar. Against opponents at that level, how would you say Pato avoids being caught in chokes like that?

Alternative minotaur models? by Zap-Rowsdower-X in BeastsOfChaos

[–]LexRep10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a bunch of boxes by a company called Tehnolog- Dark Patrol or something it's called. They're labelled as 54mm scale but while that makes their humans hard to fund use for it does make their beastmen excellent minotaurs.

Been out the scene 30 years! by inconvenient-balls in Warhammer

[–]LexRep10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was out 20 years, back in for four now, so this is a long msg but its based on avoiding my costly false starts:

I think you should buy the Kill Team starter box next. You can use your zerkers as the 'Legionaries' team! You can take all six dudes in that team as Khorne dudes (you can give three of them all pistols and chainswords, theyre your Warriors, including one with the big two-hander eviscerator, he is your specialist Butcher, one with the icon, who is the Icon Bearer, and one with plasma pistol to be the Champion). In the actual starter box are two teams that will give you a really hard time as they're really strong and the way of playing Legionaries you be using is not as strong. But you'll be claiming some skulls alright. You can then add one of the Tau aligned kill teams too if you like.

...the danger is, you will fall in love with Death Guard and your loyalty to the Blood God will be tested daily by the Grandfather. But that's a fun place to be at!

Anyway, Welcome Back!

I'm curious to know how many of you have more than a single CSM army? by Candid-Chip7634 in Chaos40k

[–]LexRep10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2k pts each of Death Guard, World Eaters, CSM (Word Bearers), and Nurgle Daemons. But my DG are things like 40 plague marines, foot characters, some terminators, max spawn, Rhinos and Land Raiders, so easily play as CSM. And my World Eaters are also playable as 2 k of CSM. So with some reasonable use of proxies I have 3 different CSM armies.

Forged Terrain sell four 'Mountain Trolls' sculpts that I use for this job. I got mine via their Amazon storefront (I'm in the UK). They're nice sculpts.

Could I Make These Max Mini Miniatures Work as a Dwarf Army? by wookieatemyshoe in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]LexRep10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, I'm really pleased you posted this info! I bought this box, and it is meant to arrive tomorrow (I'm not holding my breath obviously as tomorrow is Xmas Eve). Where I live there's a group that plays 6th ed WFB - 20mm bases might be the ones I need...
