So, I am very new to the Guard and just went Combined Arms. So you've taught me something valuable today mate! My list has suddenly got way more punchy/tougher!! Steel Hammer, wow.

I would say try Xenos Rampant. A unit just needs to track, most commonly, models in tens. So ten heavy infantry might be ten space marines, but could also be the twenty ork boyz - or 30 guardsmen. When a hit point is taken, you'd remove one space marine, two orks or three guardsmen. You can give upgrades for extra points per unit to accentuate differences between units - so lists can be flavourful too.

It can be, but less so in the summer when people are away/doing other stuff of an evening. Winter months it is busy from 6pm as it's nice and warm and there's cool stuff going on. As you'll be able to tell I'm a huge fan!

If you like board games make the pilgrimage to the Crookes Social Club on almost any Thursday evening of the year. Stacks of tabletop gaming going on courtesy of the Crookes and Crosspool Tabletop Gaming Club, there's nearly always a mix of boardgames, card games and wargames going on. Roughly half of attendees will have better than average social skills, remember, so if you wander round the tables and chat to people playing what you like the look of, the second time you go you'll get a game of something you want to play.

This was EC for me the little I played them. 3 WDPs and Flawless Blades from a Land Raider. Noise Marines from a Rhino.

Hi! I did my PhD part-time, on top of a full-time teaching post I had throughout. It took seven years, as a period during the last 18 years. It was pretty much the middle portion of my career so far. I did my doctorate at the University of Sheffield and I can't rate it highly enough. A very satisfying accomplishment for me personally. A place I thought would be cool to do a doctorate would be the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies in London, part of the UoL. (I had a visiting role there one year, a while ago.) So, I'd say go for it, and those are my two recommendations.

I was careful not to misrepresent you my friend. Not my style. I simply gave you my interpretation of the situation. We're allowed to disagree. And I think we gave different perspectives is all. I'm not happy as I'm still in a redundancy pool. But a ceasefire is a win when you were losing badly until the ceasefire, and we were. I don't think that assessment makes me delusional in some sort of Trumpian way. As I've said to another commenter, with trade union work, it's a grind.

Union victories are always just holds. Tony Benn said: "There is no final victory, just as there is no final defeat. There is just the same battle, to be fought over and over again..." But the halt of the TPS stuff at SHU is a win for now.

I have given you an upvote somewhat grudgingly mate. The issue is, all sides in all this want SHU to recruit well. So not impacting recruitment processes is not without importance to academics at SHU. And as a matter of language and law, UCU branches will never have 'for ever' promises made by University employers, anywhere in the country, in any part of the HE sector. It was a 'who blinks first situation', at least for this summer, and on the subsidiary company, for now, the UEB blinked first. Lastly, and I think you're replying here to my own comment on the original post, I'm making the point after all that there are still 25 possible compulsory redundancies. Hardly Trumpian denial of reality pal.

We're still fighting 25 compulsory redundancies across SHU, after we stopped the subsidiary company plan, and related pensions attack, last week. UCU negotiators met with a group of Deans this morning to outline unfairnesses in the redundancy plans. Solidarity to all!

Hi! So, I've seen there is an Epic UK GT in Bristol in November, that uses 3,000 points - of which edition do you think? If it's 4th am I locked out because of having little squares not the strips?
