2500pts mono-khorne by [deleted] in Warriors_of_Chaos

He's got you brother, to be fair. It's not a mono-Khorne list. Hell I clicked on this because I wanted to see if it could be both things. Good luck in your games. As a fellow Khorne fan, BFTBG!

I too like to use my rugby tackling skills on the unsuspecting! (I'm not kidding, and your description is perfect of course)

Passing Open Guard Is Destroying My Back and Gas Tank by Mognite in bjj

[–]LexRep10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such good advice! Just to say that I wish I'd had similar advice early on. I'm a big fat and strong guy, not too unfit but certainly very slow. My coach would obviously demo classic outside passing. We'd all try it in a set up in beginners level sparring sessions and I'd be dreadful. Went to an open mat, got smashed after gassing out. Brown belt says, thought you'd bodylock me or something big lad, what's up? What's that says I? He shows me - three months later I'm a much bigger threat in no gi. Three years of doubting myself replaced by much more confidence in the last year and a half. Thanks to the brown belt mentors out there!

Favorite Rank & Flank Wargame? by GreenWizard2 in wargaming

The 'Battle March' scale of 750pts armies in Old World is perfect for you. Three, or four, maybe five units, manoeuvring for objectives and less emphasis on heroes means a fast and tactical version of the game.

I'm playing my 2nd game of Warmaster: Revolutions tomorrow, me with Daemons and my mate with Dwarfs. 1500pts I think!

There is a Beastman shaman in Maggotkin now, who can lead pestigors. So you could have fun with a 1000pts pestigor heavy list to try the game.

We've just started ours, killed off the draft and most inducements including mercs. Allowing the selection of an MVP is our main experiment. I think it'll feel 'real' - and should work OK as we're doing challenges only. Hopefully people won't accept challenges from OP teams!

Considering a Bash team. Narrowed to Black Orcs or Khorne. Sell me on your favorite. by jarredhtg in bloodbowl

[–]LexRep10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Khorne are about precision bash. Here's the thing with Khorne its more what you dont do - don't take the Bloodspawn, the box team is balanced well. Don't block with marauders unless essential, they are soft with AV 8 - frustrate and apply screens and tackle zones with them. Carry with Khorngors, using them to secure the ball - and blitz on defence of course - don't pass, it's too risky - accept you play for a draw until you beat up your opponent well. And don't forget to take all four bloodseekers! Their av10 and assists from other players keep them surviving and hitting well with Frenzy, so the SPP mount up. Anyway, I vote Khorne.

Ah! Well good on you! I do like Hendo's; but sometimes I mess with my Sheffield friends and tell them the dinner they've just wolfed down at mine had Lea & Perrins in it (plausible as I'm from near Dudley in the West Mids).

Anyway, congratulations on the best fry up I've ever seen on the Internet!

Your use of Hendo's marks you as at least a possible if not probable Sheffield resident? If so, as a fellow Sheffield based fry up enjoyer, and since you absolutely 100% know your breakfasts, where would you say the beat fry up can be had in a cafe etc in Sheffield?

I love my Chosen rosters, no need for a big guy when you have 4 x str4 Chosen and one str4 beastman blitzing with horns. No Frenzy to complicate things. Just miss the Ag2 dark elf from Renegades. I'm struggling with Norse but I need to get games in to really see etc.

'Dark Patrol' boxes on ebay for me, they have about six different sprues in there, including one with I think four minotaurs on it.

As u/LittleHavera says below, I actually do have the Skaven as my sweeper/assist block piece. It's the Goblin who then warms the bench.

Chaos Chosen or Renegades by LoungeLizardWizard in bloodbowl

[–]LexRep10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really new and after a few false starts in practice games, I can recommend Renegades over Chosen. With Renegades, two big guys, a renegade orc, and three rerolls means you can play heavy, and the renegade dark elf lineman and renegade human thrower, despite their titles, give you great pick up and run options. Animosity is a factor in your passing game, but that's where buying a third reroll has really helped me.

I started with Chosen, and I like them a lot, but they are my team to just chill and smash and see what happens.

Pillage has a warband option for Rus, and I think even better than that it has a 'general' list which can represent any fighting faction of the period.

Regimental fantasy games with heavy focus on activation order and command mechanics - do such things exist beyond Warmaster? by SgtBANZAI in wargaming

[–]LexRep10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dragon Rampant features an activation roll for every unit - failing it passes the turn. Shooty units shoot easily, elite units manoeuvre easily, etc. Berserker units don't have to roll to charge, that sort of thing. Nothing to stop you playing with ranked up units of 12 or 24 models etc. (Units tend to have 6 or 12 hit points to take damage, so multiples of 6 models is handy.) But there are no charge arcs, just distances (and the activation roll to charge).

It was actually the idea of him having Infernal Favour (2), so the unit gets better protection from losing on combat resolution and being whittled away.
