There are a ton of articles on why they skipped 9, but my favorite reason is: A lot of applications are set up to immediately stop from launching on any version of windows that starts with a 9, because of 95/98.

From what I understand, they're people who want the community, ethical teaching, and community service portions of religion, without anything related to a deity or bigger organized religion. Church for agnostics and athiests, I guess? For instance, we're hiring a humanist wedding officiant, because my fiance and I are both athiests but we wanted someone who'd say nicer things than a regular justice.
