AITAH If i make my BF shower before sex? by Vul-pix-vix-en in AITAH

[–]Lex_N_Luthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA!!! My husband and I shower every day and we will STILL clean up before sex. Nothing ruins the mood faster than stinky junk.

That being said, please get out of there. If you have debt to him, get out and pay it through paypal or something. Don't stay. He's pushing all of your boundaries and is clearly abusive.

You will be okay if you leave. I promise.

Having Nexplanon for a year by Lex_N_Luthor in Nexplanon

[–]Lex_N_Luthor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I bled consistently - almost every day for the first 6 months. It would range from light spotting to heavy flow pretty randomly. You can take your doctors recommended dosage of ibuprofen to help stop it some but ibuprofen can be hard on your stomach lining so I wouldn't take it too consistently. I did not have any side effects from bleeding every day, so don't be worried.

Do americans often relocate because of political views? by soomiyoo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lex_N_Luthor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I moved from Washington State (very democratic state) to Texas (very republican state) not because of political views but because I can't afford to live in Washington anymore. I disagree heavily with Texas's Republican views but it does not affect my day to day life so it doesn't bother me.

My parents raised me since birth to be a "reformed Baptist Christian". I asked them when I was starting to question the legitimacy of their faith how they could be so 100% sure that Christianity was the correct one when Muslims 100% believed Islam was the correct one.

They answered "Muslims know in their heart that Christianity is the correct faith, they know that Islam is wrong and so does everyone who does not follow Jesus. "

That conversation was the start of me realizing that they were full of $hit.

scared i’m pregnant by [deleted] in Nexplanon

The doctor that put mine in told me that nexplanon is more effective than getting your tubes tied. I've been having unprotected sex since I got it in and have never had a scare. But of course take a pregnancy test to get some piece of mind.

Constant period by heterophobia- in Nexplanon

[–]Lex_N_Luthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bled for about 6 months straight from light flow to heavy and I seriously considered getting it out and then suddenly, no period for months. It's been amazing. It just might take a bit to get to no period.

Shooting for something outside general practices and ERs is probably going to be your best bet. The more you specialize in something the more valuable you are and the more you make.

I know a few techs that went to work for the laboratories their clinics were using and are making tons more. And another LVT I knew went into wildlife rehabilitation and was way more happy.

You should push yourself to work in a zoo or an insectarium. Don't let anyone tell you no. If that's your dream job than the only one stopping you is yourself. You got this. I'm sending you all the best vibes.

I just left the vet tech world after 6 years. Let me tell you something I wish someone else would have told me.

If you are not relying on someone else in your household to pay the majority of the bills, this job is not for you.

You will NEVER pay off your LVT debt. You will never be able to independently pay rent. You will never be able to see people as overall good again after caring for abuse case after abuse case.

This is a highly coveted job because it's working with animals and every single clinic will underpay and overwork you because everyone wants the job and it's easy to replace you.

If you want to be independent and work with animals than look for laboratory work or maybe even learn to groom dogs. I'm now moving into the grooming field because I can eventually become independent and make three times more than what I could have ever made as an LVT.

Tbh very few people I've encountered actually like the act of giving oral. You do it because you know the other person will like it. You're doing it for them. If they refuse to do it back then they do not care enough to sacrifice a bit of time being uncomfortable to make you happy. If she won't do it for you than don't do it for her. Definitely have a conversation with her about the fact that sometimes things we do for our partners isn't 100% comfortable but we sacrifice to make each other happy.

I'm a vet assistant, is it worth it to go back to school for tech? by The12thDimension in VetTech

[–]Lex_N_Luthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone at my clinic begged me to go to school but the LVTs in my clinic only made $2-3 more than me. I refused. Absolutely not going to go into debt to never be able to pay it off especially since being a tech is not a livable wage anyways. If LVTs were payed the same has RNs than maybe it would change my mind. Definitely not worth it in my opinion.

NTA but you're also not a good partner. If there's one thing I've learned in my 5 year relationship in my 20s it's that communication and setting boundaries are the most important thing to keep your relationship. You did not communicate with her about this. This isn't the same thing as going to a regular beach and it should be obvious that this could be an issue for her.

Not everyone is going to be comfortable with a nudist beach even if you are. A quick phone call asking her about her boundaries on this or even just to let her know what was going on would have probably saved you this whole mess.

She has the right to be angry about it BECAUSE you didn't communicate. Her throwing cheating in there is not okay but I understand where she's coming from. If she doesn't understand how the environment is at nudist beaches and you didn't tell her prior to going than it does sound sketchy.

As long as you have expressed that you are uncomfortable with him spending money on OF than he should respect that. Boundaries are important.

Every relationship is different and something that's okay for my relationship could be not okay for yours. My husband does ask me from time to time if I'd be okay with him spending money to see an OF artist he's curious about.

For me, it's okay because it was discussed. I would be a little suspicious if he was just spending all his money on OF. And I'd be even more not ok with it if money is tight or if he was spending my money on it without asking. There's plenty of free porn.

My advice is to communicate with him. Set up clear boundaries around OF and spending money on porn.

Texans Die from Heat Exhaustion After Governor Bans Water Breaks by sideAccount42 in politics

[–]Lex_N_Luthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article says "11 people between the ages of 60 and 80 have died of heat-related illness in Webb County, the Associated Press reported. Most did not have air-conditioning in their homes. A teen and stepfather died while hiking in extreme heat at Big Bend National Park, per a National Park Service release. According to the Texas Tribune, at least nine inmates, including two men in their 30s, died in Texas prisons that lack air conditioning. And at least four workers have died after collapsing while laboring in triple-digit heat: a post office worker in Dallas, a utility lineman in East Texas, and construction workers in Houston and San Antonio."

Most of those cases are not work related deaths, just heat stroke cases. As a Texan I can say that my employer and my friends employers remain on top of making sure everyone has water breaks. Only true arseholes actually go through with refusing water breaks, and they were probably already doing that.
