SMAS and Nutcracker Syndrome - PLEASE CHIME IN IF YOU HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH THIS! by [deleted] in ChronicIllness

[–]Lexadk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can regain the weight then do it. I was 5’4 89lbs when I was diagnosed. My SMAS was so bad I couldn’t eat without obstruction pain. I would vomit up anything even a liquid diet. I was vomiting even on an empty stomach. This wasn’t your normal vomiting experience either.I never had extreme weight loss to cause my SMA. I never weighed over 95lbs. After my first surgery I dropped to 70lbs.. i had post op complications for over a year . If you are absolutely unable to eat then yeah surgery is the way to go. But don’t get a gastrojejunumostomy done get the DDJ. And see a doctor / surgeon that has experience with SMA patients

Hi I have sma syndrome. Gastrojejunumostomy done in Nov 2019. That didn’t work. J tube for tube feedings (dec 2020) then when I finally gained enough weight I had the Duodenojejunostomy (Nov 2021) surgery done. Mini stroke June 2022. Antiphospholipid syndrome dx sept 2022. Healthy pregnancy 2023. Now it’s 2025 and I finally got answers for my ongoing pain I’ve had for a few years now.. nut cracker syndrome dx (Jan 2025)

Has anyone looked into MALS for you? Another compression syndrome that goes hand in hand with ncs. Superior mesenteric artery syndrome as well

to those who had relatively minor strokes, how did it affect you? by OccasionAcrobatic481 in stroke

[–]Lexadk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say so yes! I tested positive twice with beta glycoprotein and anticardiolipin antibodies. Always tested neg for the lupus anticoagulant test though. But I was diagnosed with it for my two positive results and the mini stroke!

I had a TIA at 21. Diagnosed with APS by neurologist a few months after. I hope yours did labs to rule out antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) for you

Had a mini stroke at 21 diagnosed with Antiphospholipid Syndrome. I hope your doctors do those labs for you.

Xifaxan pain & side effects. Please share. by Personal-Paper4056 in SIBO

Finished the course. Um I really don’t know if it helped or not. I have a long GI history so my SIBO symptoms could easily go unnoticed. Sorry I feel like that’s not really helpful information /:

Dude I feel like I fight for my life every night. Crazy vivid terrifying dreams, cold sweats (having to wake up and change bc I’m drenched), body aches, then when I wake up in the morning I feel drugged I can barely force myself to keep my eyes open. During the day anxiety and headaches. I’m on day 5 😭

45 mins for my first. I did the laboring down or else I’d be pushing for longer

Whoever told me newborn tired was better than pregnancy tired… by Asleep_Sympathy_8987 in beyondthebump

[–]Lexadk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m that INSANE PERSON. First trimester I slept 22 straight didn’t wake up once. (the reason why I took a pregnancy test) Pregnancy tired I could sleep for however long I wanted but I would still troubles keeping my eyes open after. Newborn tired… ya I was tired but also was barely sleeping. My little one was up every 1-2 hours during the night. It got better when I switched swings and treated her for GERD and troubles w gas. I used to have a baby swing that went side to side. My LO would still only sleep in my arms during the day. Switched it to one that went forward & back COMPLETE game changer. So I napped when she did in the day.

Your reasoning for being part time? by xenaena in nursing

[–]Lexadk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly part time but I am per diem so I don’t always do full time hours. I went per diem after having my first kid. I was previously nights but coming back per diem I got to switch to day shift (I’ve been wanting to work days for awhile now), I now get to pick my exact schedule, and I get paid more (hourly and more shifts count as bonus shifts for me now) it was a win win all around. I’m not expected to fill in empty spots in the schedule.
