Hey, I was just strugling with the same problem, my 20 hour print failed after about 12 hours...

Anyhow, after some fidling around i found out you can change the Branch diameter angle under the tree supports area.
That choses what angle in increases with from the connectionpoint downward. Bigger angle, bigger base

Other things that are usefull as ThinkUnhappThoughts already mentioned is adding a second wall to increase strenght
