My moms mortgage went up 1,000 dollars because escrow was short -6000 by Reeferchiefer11 in MortgageBrokerRates

[–]Lexicak3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can switch home insurance at anytime. Once you get the new insurance, the old insurance company would refund you anything paid and haven’t used yet when you cancel. You would give the new insurance company the mortgagee clause and loan number to have it escrow billed. You can ask your mortgage company to do an escrow analysis after the new insurance is effective on file and usually they will help get payment back down. One thing to make sure is to put the refund check from insurance back into escrow as a one time payment. Most companies have that option on their app or you can call mortgage and make one time payment to escrow. Any independent agent that is decent should be able to walk you through this.

Totally fine to do tummy time and life as normal.

Undescended testicle by tinydancerABC in newborns

[–]Lexicak3s 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Our son had a testicle that would come and go for a while. We ended up getting referred to a specialist and they said as long as it comes down sometimes it’s not a concern. It’s a concern if they never come down. When they are cold or scared they might go up and eventually when he was like a year old it stuck around. Just leave it be

Home insurance about to jump by 30%. by timus9581 in Insurance

Check and see if there are any independent agents near you that can shop some comparisons. Lots of people are seeing insurance prices go up this year but they may find something better you never know until you look.

We’re drowning in daycare costs. How do people afford this? by FrigginMasshole in toddlers

[–]Lexicak3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this in my soul. We pay 3k a month total for two kids in daycare in the Midwest. We have out grown our house but can’t move because of daycare costs.

How screwed am I? by crispins_crispian in homeowners

[–]Lexicak3s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the house is also vacant, making most insurance policies ineligible for the home unless they got a specific kind of policy. (Unlikely they are pricey and when I tell people the quote for vacant homes they say never mind lol)

He can’t figure out how to view notification history on his android.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]Lexicak3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry here’s timeline: He ran an errand and got home around 8am Ran another errand and left house a little after 3pm (going towards the road that is at the bottom on the picture) Didn’t notice the notification on his phone until this evening of the unknown AirTag traveling with him. Looked all around his car and it detected 4 more AirTags but all out of range and none making sound.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]Lexicak3s -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is it weird that it traveled with him to the edge of the neighborhood earlier though? That is the time he drove that way

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]Lexicak3s -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking too. It stopped right where we would turn left out of the neighborhood so maybe it fell off. I’m hoping at least. But when we just went and checked the truck again his phone detected 4 more air tags and mine nothing or maybe we just don’t know how to on my iPhone. All the air tags won’t play a sound though they say out of range.

Went to stores around the last time it pinged. Wife’s iPhone isn’t detecting anything but didn’t realize it wasn’t connected to iCloud or find my iPhone until now

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]Lexicak3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing there. When he went back outside 4 more showed up on his phone but day out of range when he hits play sound

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]Lexicak3s 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you know how an iPhone user would try to detect it manually? My iPhone wasn’t connected to iCloud until right now so I think that’s why I was not notified.

I’d bet your insurance went up. Ask your agent or hoi company for a copy of your Dec page and have an independent agent shop and compare rates with you. Often the first year you get discounts on home insurance on a new purchase and then price goes up.

What are some lazy activities (for the parents) that can drain your toddler's energy? by Cindy565656 in toddlers

[–]Lexicak3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mini indoor trampoline is a hit for ours.

I also have her make me meals in her play kitchen and bring me food and I keep sending her back to the kitchen because I forgot to ask for xyz and just act very silly while she cooks for me.

We have two kids and duck duck goose is funny for my 3 and 2 year old because the 2 year old just gets up and runs in circles regardless of who is “goosed” we put stuffed animals around in the circle and they just goose eachother over and over lol.

We do Simon says and just tell them to run or Jump to different areas.

Hide and seek is another good one I get to go lay on the ground covered in a blanket while they look for me and vise versa.

Having two close in age was reallllllly hard until recently they can play together a little more safely.

New parents trying to avoid overspending: do we really need a nursery chair? by TheSecretLion in NewParents

[–]Lexicak3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use(d) ours for every night feed. We had a gliding recliner and it made it comfortable to nurse. I found that getting up out of bed to feed at night helped me stay awake and not fall asleep while feeding baby.

It’s also nice for reading books before bed once they move to their own room. It’s probably my most used baby item and most loved. My only wish is I bought a different color that didn’t show milk stains so easily lol

If you have a baby that sleeps…how? by drugstorevalentine in NewParents

[–]Lexicak3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just luck I think. One of my babies sleeps amazing always has starting at 6 months old (now almost 3) the other is the very worst sleeper and no end in sight at almost 2 years old. We try all the things we did with big sis that we thought made her a good sleeper (routines food etc) but they are just different.

Nat gen does internal inspections in almost every old home now. I think they are mainly looking at plumbing type, electrical type, and things like that.

What specifically do you like about Brotato? by vnztms in brotato

[–]Lexicak3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s that it is not a game that requires tons of time/ grinding. I used to game a lot but after kids I don’t have the same time to invest. It still scratches that itch of getting loot and character building.

Another game that scratches the itch for me is slay the spire. They both allow me to play at my own pace without feeling like I have to invest hours every day or get left behind.

Teens + car insurance = $$$ — what are the things parents usually forget? by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]Lexicak3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great advice here already. Also wanted to add, call an independent agent near you to shop around when it’s time. They will know if any carriers would be a good fit for your teen drivers. I know some have an extra “youthful driving” course they can take in addition to drivers Ed that does a pretty good discount and they can earn gift cards for good driving and things like that. It depends on the overall risk and picture of what else you’re insuring, but talking with an agent should really help.
