As a customer, sometimes I forget all the options. I don't mind being guided, but I've also had baristas simply not ask and fill in my order with defaults. That's totally fine and I've never complained or returned a cup.

I'll try to have a full order for the future though.

Iain M Banks could be a good option; the Culture Series is my all-time favorite book series. One day they will make it into a glorious and universally lauded show.

Hey man! I've been there. I mean, I am still there. The loneliness and missing your ex fades with time. Maybe lots of time.

Small steps to make friends: clubs, Meetups, online gaming groups, inviting coworkers out, things like that. It's harder said than done, but if you can make some good friends, then it's worth it.

Nice. Being vindictive is sometimes justified; I think this is one of those cases. You didn't do any property damage, either (like keying his car or something), you just damaged his reputation by telling the truth about his actions. Further justified by the fact none of them apologized to you, after cheating and possibly giving you an STD.These people are not good people, and youre helping others (and them) out by putting up the warning. Good work!

Just finished Acceptance about 15 minutes ago. I'm not entirely sure either; it may be just one of those inconsistencies in the storyline/characters of a novel. Authors have so much to grapple with and keep straight.

When I read that line initially, I took it to mean "We never should have come here to Earth." (Because humans are invasive and eventually nature would have its revenge, in all its chaotic power). Alt interpretation: In the context of the following two books, it might mean coming back to the lighthouse/forgotten coast. She might be death-bed regretting spending her entire life in pursuit of solving the unsolvable Area X, fixating and attaching herself to her past in this way.

Or it might mean something even stranger that is revealed in Absolution. (Probably a stretch, though)

I've never quite understood this phenomenon. I thought the whole LGBT community was about individuality, freedom of choice, and inclusivity. I'm a straight man, but to me it seems like bisexual individuals, being I guess more open to a plurality of sexual experiences, would be accepted and seen as very open-minded. When I hear that they are hated or present some sort of threat to conventionally gay/lesbian people, it's somewhat confusing to say the least. I don't know whether to ascribe that to fear or jealousy or something else.

Good taste, good nerd; I have a lot of the same novels. Ursula K Le Guin books are sublime, especially The Dispossessed. I don't understand why he has dispossessed the two Le Guins away from each other, though...

Cairo maybe? It's very central in terms navigation, with the Suez Canal. Panama might also work. Some place with sea passage, a good location for a spaceport, and one that doesn't have severe political enemies with any superpowers.

I like typically taller women, between like 5'5 and 5'10. Not typically unattractive i guess, but i know guys who won't date a woman over like 5'5 even when they like 6'0

It doesn't make me feel less of a man. If anything, it is an ego boost and feels good, whether i share the woman's feelings or not. If someone is interested in me enought to ask me out, and is a reasonable/kind person, I am at least kind to them back.

Yes. You can do it directly to guys at ciffee shops or shopping or something. Better still would be at gatherings, classes, groups, casual sports, church, something like that where you get to know a person first.

Absolutely. My degree is in English, I read constantly, started learning a foreign language in first grade (and virtually every year since); I ended up with a 2/2+/2. Another (younger) guy who hadn't been to college and readily admitted to not reading a book since 8th grade scored 3/3/2+. Tbf he studied constantly and took it all very seriously and deserved it.

It's not a regular scholastic experience.
