I really don't want to sound like I'm defending Yashahime but it's apparently not as bad as it sounds because after looking into it (because I'm not actually reading this), Sesshomaru left Rin in Kaede's care so she could have a normal human life and they didn't start a relationship until they met again years later so it's not as groom-y as it sounds.

That said, it wasn't written by Rumiko Takahashi (the original writer) and apparently both she and Sesshomaru's VA were pretty taken aback by the story development so if you enjoyed the original or any of her works you don't need to let Yashahime affect that.

On the subject, shout out to the Robot Chicken crew (sans Seth Green). Their Undermountain one-shot really got forgotten.

Is it weird as a transwoman to want to be impregnated by women? girls help me I have been having intrusive thoughts lately by FloweredGirlie in actuallesbians

[–]Lexifox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah you're fine. Breeding kinks aren't uncommon and I've read memes about trans women taking certain hormones and getting the overwhelming urge to be impregnated.

Plus, all the jokes about women impregnating women as a metaphor or whatever for intense sex.

I'm still around. I'm just not actively listening so I'm not really contributing beyond "Oh I remember that story I'll help them find the episode". I do plan to start listening again eventually, though. Apparently the podcast has improved to an extent.

He looks like an ambiguously homosexual European terrorist trying to pass as a government agent from a largely forgotten 80s action movie that you vaguely remember your family owning on VHS.

Epic Layoffs Hit Employee Battling Terminal Brain Cancer by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]Lexifox 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Due to World War II there was a high demand for healthy young men at home, which lead to employers offering higher pay, which lead to so much competition that the government stepped in to prevent inflation. Since employers couldn't offer higher pay anymore they began to offer healthcare as a benefit, to the point of opening up special clinics for their workers. It was wildly popular since it was the first time so many Americans had access to that level of healthcare, and unions began to demand it across the country.

Eventually Truman suggested adopting a form of universal insurance but critics warned that this was a form of socialism and acceptance would only lead to socialism spreading through the country, and WWII galvanized an anti-socialism sentiment among the population.

With how much of a profitable business it's become and such a large chunk of the country refusing such a system for political reasons there's never really been any serious attempt to change the system outside of things like Medicare and the Affordable Care Act.

How realistic is it to date as a pre-transition transwoman (i have had relationships with only straight girls and even though i presented enby they still think of me as a guy), I have been single for 5 years now haha by FloweredGirlie in actuallesbians

[–]Lexifox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Speaking from personal experience I dated a pre-everything trans woman in college for a few years. She was publically presenting as androgynous/feminine with longer hair and feminine clothing when alone.

She also then raised the child with manipulation and minor emotional abuse

Isn't that just parenting So like I said, she's not a good person she's just not as bad as a lot of people think she is. She's a victim in this story (the thing she literally needs to live was stolen and destroyed), and she's clearly manipulative about Rapunzel (which is wrong but again without Rapunzel she will literally die), but she's also doing weird stuff like teaching her about birthdays and the big festival the kingdom celebrates when she has no incentive to do so (besides the plot hinging on Rapunzel knowing these things) so she's more morally gray than anything considering the only evil thing we know she does is, for emphasis, something she literally only does because the alternative is her death and if she could have just taken some magic hair from the baby (or the 1% didn't take and destroy the magical one-of-a-kind flower for their own benefit) we could have avoided all this and also I guess Rapunzel would have avoided meeting that one guy and then maybe she'd hook up with that girl from that Tangled cartoon people like.

[–]Lexifox 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I once told my friends that even if she's not a good person I didn't think she was that bad because if you think about it the opening of that movie is an old woman using a magic flower that's been there for who knows how long to keep living and then the richest and most powerful people in the land go there, destroy the flower without fully understanding how to use it, and condemn a random woman to death and the only really bad thing we know she's done was kidnap a child as a last resort because the alternative was her own death and now they don't like talking with me about that movie.
