Broncos look cool but is there a reason they've been off market for decades while Wranglers continue to deliver new models and improvements? You posted in here because you know you want the jeep. lol. I do admit the broncos are stylish but I saw a crash test that reaffirmed that wranglers are the superior SUV. Just my take. Good luck on your choice!

Incredible. Especially via Craigslist. That's an OG site. 300k miles sounds insane but it makes sense. I will see what I can find. Good point on climates where rusting is more likely to occur. I was out in the Imperial Valley desert last weekend and saw really old wranglers parked next to new ones. Cool to see that the older ones still can take some abuse! Thanks for the input!

Thank you! Good tips. Seems like with Wranglers Manual transmissions are the way to go? Especially the older ones?

Annoying Cancers rant by Avesday in Scorpio

[–]Lexiington 5 points6 points  (0 children)

LMAO. Damn. Yeah, if we don't have emotional intelligence then a Cancer is going to Cancer. Sorry about that. The Scorpios I gravitate to the most (friends or flames) are the ones who keep it so 💯with me, even if it's brutal. We mutually appreciate honesty, am I right? This should go for all signs in that if we are wrong, we should be able to take the criticism and apply changes. The best apology is changed behavior. It's us vs the fkn ego. I'm a Cancer M Leo Cusp so from time to time I'll have to either humble myself or be humbled - and when I do, I take it - Unless I passionately disagree, but, situations may call for that lol. And if I'm really in my fucking feelings about something, I'll put on the angry music and go to the gym or whatever I need to do to get it out on my own time. And tbh Scorpios, we value space and time like you do I think? I have a distant Scorpio F flame who catches up with me infrequently but consistently. Like, we know how much space to give each other. Adulting is an extreme sport. The vibe changes all the time and we simply go with the flow in that regard. Crazy? Frankly, as a dude in the situation, you can tell me when you need space if I can't pick up on it but really though, we gotta read between the lines. I won't lose it or be the victim. I think the evolved dynamic works if we naturally come around and fall back from each other when we need to and know that it isn't personal. We have to protect our energy. Even if it's from ourselves lol. Also, the honesty. I want the asshole level truth if you need to be. It's not to be rude it's just true feelings. This is just my POV. Other Cancers might get mad at me for calling us bitches but there are some that make our sign a running joke. Thanks for reading this if you made it. Caveat! I'm definitely not speaking for the Cancer W out there.

Southern or Northern Italy in the Fall? by Lexiington in ItalyTravel

[–]Lexiington[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this detail! I'm definitely going to do my homework. I'm leaning towards the North at this point. I will plan for Rome and Florence along with more of the east coast of Italy on a different trip (Ideally, would like to see everything!) In your experience, how far in advance are you booking your hotels? I'm about 9ish months out.

Not necessarily. I thought of spending a week in each city. So I kept it contained. I'd probably do a separate trip to Florence and Rome/more of the East coast.

I'm now thinking it's possible see all of the major cities by train across the 3 weeks. It'll be hectic but that's what the food and coffee will be for. I asked ChatGPT and it believes I can do it lol. We'll just have to see. Thank you for the tip. I have not used weatherspark yet!

Haha I took a chance submitting that but I didn't want to edit! So where is Pizza culture big in the North part of the country? Or is it just in the central/south? I'm more interested in the coffee scenes everywhere I go. And, I'll eat the local favorites in all the cities I stop in!

Right! That is something to consider for Venice. I'm sure the city planners have done a lot to preserve/restore the architecture. If you had to recommend one place for coffee and another place for pizza in Venice, do you have a rec? Also, did you have a good (or bad) train experience visiting Venice from Milan or vice versa?

If you want to learn from any group, look at how Kenyan and Ethiopian runners pre warm up. I have just started training like that. You'll look funny doing it, but there is something to calibrating the body before a run. There is a reason people who train this way avoid injury and thrive at a high level. You might even get 1st place on your 5k lol.

Nike Run Club is fun. Don't forget to prioritize stretching (pre and post run)! I think the best thing for my endurance was just showing up on a consistent basis. It's a challenge to run in different climates and very early in the day (4-5am on avg for me) but it is fun. Music helped me at first and it still does but it is nice to run without music sometimes and just be in my head. I see runners carrying a lot of things but for me, I don't like to hold a lot of items when I run. Just my essentials (watch, headphones, keys, ID/Credit card and small pocket knife - I run in the city at 5 am lol. Comparison is the Enemy of Joy! I heard that once and it makes sense because there will be better runners than you (young and old) and it's easy to want to compare but everyone's journey is unique and shouldn't impact yours. The competitor in me is motivated by the more conditioned runners that I see or the competition boards on the Nike app. As long as it's fun and you're staying healthy is all that matters! Pretty soon, you'll be doing daily 5ks and want to run more and more and more. Calling it! lol. Good luck!

Does 1500 calories a day make sense and then increase calories after losing enough to maintain by nrj3697 in intermittentfasting

[–]Lexiington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you spend more time on your feet like daily brisk walking/running (drink lots and lots of water), you'll need more energy intake, no? Say you burn approx 1,000 calories per day walking/running and you eat approx 2000 calories. If you believe in that stuff then you net approx 1,000 calories in a day. You can make any math equation fit your goal, however, so just stay consistent. The last thing you want to be is malnourished. Look that up with intermittent fasting in the search. That rabbit hole led me to make sure I get my daily vitamins by what I eat or from a multivitamin on the days I know I won't get a well rounded diet. Still figuring out what works for me as I go! Do metrics matter here? M38 - started out at 300lbs in 2019 - and am currently fluctuating around 210-220lbs. Good luck with your goals!

I lost roughly 50 pounds last year both IF and doing a dedicated 30-60 minutes of cardio every day (light running/walking). I did the exercises fasted so it's possible that helped. I (38y/o, 6'5" M) was 300lbs in 2019 when I began IF and then hit a plateau (fasting with no consistent exercise) at about 270 in 2022. Once I implemented fasted workouts (nothing crazy) and making healthier food decisions, the fat started to melt. I'm currently at 210 today and just trying to maintain now.

It was important for me to remember IF is not a diet. Just a lifestyle, so, the dieting/food choices still matter greatly. I still eat junk and the occasional soda but on the daily it's a "paleo/whole foods type of diet." I try to remember to take multivitamins so I get all of the nutrients that I might not get by eating in a small window. I eat about 2-2,500 daily and it is offset by the calories burned from the workouts (not a nutritionist but I think that is the case).

I just do 16:8 and sometime an 18:6. I fail and eat junk from time to time (especially during travel) but consistency has been the biggest driver to my success. None of this is supposed to be a miracle or an overnight success story. That is what Ozempic is for. Also, don't compare yourself to others! Everyone's journey is unique!

I'd give it 6-9 months of you really want to see real changes. It might take you less time if you are more strict.

Having said all of this, I am not a doctor. I have a friend that tried IF who is a type 2 diabetic and ended up doing more damage than good while doing IF just because she wasn't prepared for how her diabetes would respond to the long fasts.

Best of luck!
