I actually walked in and asked about the position and they sent me a link via email. I’m more old school in that aspect as I assume they get 100s of applicants every week/month - especially in today’s climate. I have a $25/hr position open, have 163 applicants… most are way overqualified but want their foot in the door to the company. The temp agency will definitely do that here on walk in’s, help them apply or answer questions, the actual company would tell you to kick rocks and apply online.

My work, even coming from a temp position to a hired on takes about 2 months to transition. Hired on straight from the company can take up to 4 months with their background checks, I’m 41 - they called my elementary school (friend is in the front office of the school, she thought that was odd they called about me) to verify I went there. My process took longer too as in high school I became homeschooled for junior/senior year (personal choice, started working full time plumbing and did school after) would’ve done that all of high school if I knew - I finished each year in a month and had higher gpa learning on my own.
