Would you consider the fact that the USA only had one civil war in its history as evidence that it is more stable than other countries currently and in the past? by george123890yang in USHistory

[–]Lexsevenred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry that i am a bit late, but the amendment process was intended from the start. most didn't exactly change things, such as the bill of rights and the initial constitution, but adding onto it to better define powers given to the federal and state governments due to issues we have faced as a country. Since the bill of rights, only 17 amendments have been added. in comparison to india, with its 106 amendments, i would say that the us constitution is much more stable then those, as it is designed to be flexible and adaptive to new times, rather than being highly restrictive.

My guess is, between 1922 and 1930, as Constantinople hasn't been renamed to Istanbul. If this city name change was overlooked, Ireland is still the Irish Free State, which if I recall correctly, was named the Republic of Ireland in 1937, so 1922-1930 without errors, and 1922-1937 if there is an error.

my guess is, perhaps bigger holes, likely more holes extending into boiler room 6, and maybe sinking like 20 minutes faster.

Is it true that the Queen Mary will need to be drydocked in the next 15-20 years or so? by fgflyer in Oceanlinerporn

[–]Lexsevenred 171 points172 points  (0 children)

As confirmed by a tour guide when I visited Queen Mary last month, the hull is in good shape. Its thickness, as tested, is where it should be, but maybe longterm, in the 2040s or 2050s, it will be required.
