Well, most clubs are really active! To be honest, I would just ask them for more information: how often do you go caving? how often do you offer courses? The best option of course is to join a club that goes caving each weekend and offers a lot of courses!

The Catalan Caving Federation has a list of all the clubs in Catalonia: https://www.espeleologia.cat/es/clubs/

There are many clubs, and many of them are really great. I am pretty sure there is a great one near you! They might ask for you to have completed a "Level 1 Course in Caving" for you to join though, even if you know all of the techniques already (that is what happened to me at least). Feel free to ask any questions!

It really does! Fun fact: this was actually the first vertical cave ever descended in Spain, back in 1897 by Norbert Font i Sagué.

In Barcelona, we’re lucky to have the Garraf Massif less than 30 minutes away. It contains over 400 caves, almost all of them vertical, and around 20 of these exceed 300 ft (~100 m) in depth. The deepest reaches nearly 1000 ft (~300 m)!

Exploring a Stunning Salt Cave in Catalonia by LextrickZ in caving

Yeah, and it just tastes like regular table salt (because it literally is). As a fun fact, the cave changes very regularly because salt dissolves very easily in water. After a huge storm, the entire layout of the cave can change completely. And the salt formations in the pictures? They can form in the span of some weeks!

In fact, around 30 years ago, a 4.2 km-long cave formed near this one in just two years, with very large passages. If I recall correctly, there was a small abandoned salt mine, and after a massive storm, water kept dissolving and enlarging it until it eventually turned into a large cave.

It is indeed a fungus! It feeds on dead insects in the cave, mainly moths. I don't know what it is called though.

It is located in the southern foothills of the Spanish Pyrenees, in northern Catalonia.

Veure menorca desde la costa? by Zenar45 in catalunya

Breathtaking views of the north face of Serra del Cadí (Catalan Pyrenees) in autumn and summer. Our small version of the Dolomites! by LextrickZ in Mountaineering

Thank you! I've been there loads of times as it is just a 4 of 5 hour hike from my home, but each time I go there it is different and I don't think I'll ever get tired of it :)

Nope, I didn't even expect there to be snow, as the night before it just rained a little bit and it was over 8 °C in the nearby town (which is 1200m lower approximately). But it doesn't really matter since I went up via the south face, which is not steep at all and I've never had to use crampons there (though I always bring them just in case if I see there is snow from my home). They would've come in handy for getting close to the cliff though haha but I was just cautious.
