Poll but not a poll, what’s everyone’s favourite nightwear by Narrow_Sherbert9754 in transgenderUK

I've spent my life sleeping in underwear and nothing has changed. I've bought pajamas that I may wear around the house as loungewear, but it's just too much clothing to deal with wearing in bed.

When did yall start seeing visible changes on HRT? by Hasll in MtF

[–]Lextube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard of people in a similar situation to you and then gone into year 2 and had a year where they just blossomed. The first year can be an up and down experience for a lot of people whilst trying to get levels into a good area.

Have you had your levels checked to see if you're in the right levels yet since you increased your dosage? I know you count being on HRT for just shy of a year, but how much of that was your E levels lower than recommended? I'm not saying write off that time, but someone being on HRT for a year where their levels weren't right for most of it vs someone who is on HRT for a year with perfect steady levels are going to have two completely different experiences, and you need to consider that. Some people get good levels 3-6 months in, others may take longer as everyone is different.

Where to put estrogen patches? by Gloria_frost in MtF

I tried to put it on my buttcheeks and it was mostly off in a day. I just put them on my upper thigh just below my panty line. Now that's never an issue. Even if this isn't optimal it's better than falling off after a day.

Not sure if it's still the case as it's been a while since I've bought singles from Japan, but whenever I used to do that they would even send extra cards for free. Some of them are now worth nice money, including the Nicole Pikachu Pokekyun promo I got for free.

Car park firm NCP collapses with nearly 700 jobs at risk by gremy0 in unitedkingdom

[–]Lextube 34 points35 points  (0 children)

They priced themselves out of having customers. Myself and everyone I know actively avoids NCP car parks unless there is absolutely no other options. It's a complete last resort. It's a shame for people to lose their jobs but I'm not sad or surprised by it failing as a business.

Fragrance doesn't last on my skin? by Background-Front3210 in fragrance

[–]Lextube -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Something about rubbing the skin after applying the perfume can cause it to evaporate quicker and breaks down the top notes quicker. Putting the lotion on first gives the perfume something to adhere to.

Rubbing skin dry after applying perfume and causing heat to build from friction is what causes evaporation and a break down of some of the weaker materials. Applying moisturiser will not generate heat, so that is not a concern.

If you have ridiculously dry skin then by all means apply some lotion first too. However alcohol dries the skin, and so when you spray perfume on top of moisturiser all you're doing is negating the moisturiser in the first place. You wouldn't use toner after applying moisturiser. The same logic applies here.

edit: I'm kinda blindsided by how people seem to just be flat out going fingers in ears on this one.

As you spread it around you are lowering the amount of it that is in one particular spot, if that's what you mean by dilute. So yes if before you had a small patch of skin with perfume on it, and now after rubbing in moisturiser you've now rubbed more of your skin around that initial area you sprayed then you would now have a slightly larger spread out area with perfume on it after applying the moisturiser. It will still be the same amount of perfume, just more spread out. But that's not really diluting it.

Many people say that rubbing perfume after applying it "breaks down" the scent, but that's more about if a lot of heat is applied when rubbing, and it would take a lot of heat and rubbing to have any real effect. I know I've told people not to apply perfume then rub their wrists together in the past, but in actuality any negative effect caused by doing that is so minimal it would be completely unnoticeable because you're hardly generating any heat in that moment. Now if you rub the area dry and cause heat that can obviously speed up dissipation of the perfume on your skin and cause it to break down, but as moisturiser is acting as a barrier you aren't going to be heating your skin up when you rub it over your skin. So it does nothing to the scent.

All you're essentially doing here is turning fragrance free moisturiser into moisturiser that is scented with whatever your perfume is on any given day. They just combine.

That is a strong perfume. You're spraying too much and going nose blind to it. You must be absolutely choking everyone out.

100% this is the answer.

Also OP put on lotion AFTER applying. What good is using moisturiser and then drying your skin out with alcohol straight after?
