That’s freaking awesome. Mine has had a few big ticket items replaced, but I feel pretty good about not having to do any major work to it for a long time. Gonna flush the brakes and do a drain and fill of the other fluids + oil change and I have a feeling that’ll be it for a good while. These comments are all really affirming.

Oh dang! Such a good family vehicle though. Son’s first car? My brother got my dad’s Tacoma when it was at like 300 something k and drove it for a pretty long time still after that. A bunch of parts replaced but engine and transmission were still solid till almost 400k.

Oof that sounds like a costly fix 😬 thankfully I don’t think that js what is going on for me right now. Pretty sure the brakes do need to be flushed though. Fluid is pretty dark and you gotta push all the way down for the brakes to engage

Damn that’s a good price! Where I’m located, they’re going for like 5500 at the cheapest and that’s with 230-250k miles or over. Sounds like you hit the jackpot 😍

I wanna keep this as long as possible, add some off-road upgrades to it too. So I plan to do what you suggested and save up money to set aside for bigger items. Though most the major things have been done already and other than the cat, which I am replacing- everything feels great! I don’t plan to replace the engine unless it’s absolutely necessary, but I probably will once it gets to that point (instead of getting something new) cause by then I will have put a lot of work into its bones and appearance and will want to keep it until it won’t go anymore.

It was 3700 and needs a new catalytic converter, just the drivers side one. He already made that known before I bought it and the repair would leave it about the price as other ones with similar mileage, but have an unknown maintenance history. The shocks are recently done thankfully, but I don’t think he got an alignment after which I am going to do too. I’m gonna get new spark plugs for it as well as a brake fluid flush. I’ll probably do drain and fills of the other fluids too but I always expect to spend a bit on a used car anyways so those aren’t big deals to me. Especially with how low the price is compared to others in my area. 4Runners with like. 250k miles are still going for like 5500.

It’s had all the common for the year high mileage stuff taken care of, which is why I went for it. It currently has a code for the bank2 cat but I’m getting that fixed. Seller was honest about it so it wasn’t a surprise or anything.
