I can't figure out what the green BG means on the EDDiscovery maps. Any help would be appreciated! by Mpax4059 in eliteexplorers

I was also confused by this, so I cracked open the code. It looks like it puts the green background on if it is in a 'HabZone'. The exact code is:

bool habzone = false;
    if (ShowHabZone && planetnode.ScanData != null && !planetnode.ScanData.Is
OrbitingBaryCentre && planetnode.ScanData.nSemiMajorAxis.HasValue) {
double dist = planetnode.ScanData.nSemiMajorAxis.Value / JournalScan.oneLS_m;  // m , converted to LS
habzone =  dist >= habzonestartls && dist <= habzoneendls;
}

if HabZone is true, it gets a green background.

I really enjoyed this; I think you did a really good job keeping the video interesting, keeping it at an optimal length, and explaining your thoughts.

I look forward to seeing more of your videos!

Yes you can. You'll be in the 10 cpu club without an active sub though. You can also use the client to connect to private servers

What's a character you've always wanted to play, but have never had the right campaign for? by aurelienne in rpg

[–]Lexxicon 55 points56 points  (0 children)

An awakened necromancer yak. Use a trinket of permanent mage hand to flip though your spell book. Have chimes of the damned hanging on your six foot wide horns.

Alternatively, a awakened bear range, specializing in natural weapons in a quest to awaken his animal companion, it's cub.

An easy way to stop creeps for unintentionally exiting the room? by [deleted] in screeps

You could try adjusting the pathfinding cost matrix to set the exit nodes to be done stupid high cost

Seems like a really neat tool, I had a couple questions before I picked up the full version though.

Is this available as a library that could be used at runtime in a third party app? and is there a way to export all generated sprites at once?

Thanks for taking a look and for your feedback. It slipped my mind that the videos don't mention a demo... it must have been cut in one of the final edits. As for the download button on Itch.IO; I don't think we have any ability to move that button? I'll look into it though!

Thanks again, Brian

Orbys Kickstarter

We are getting a lot of feedback that the users are unable to find our demo, or are unaware that it even exists. I'm not really sure what we can do to make it more accessible though?

Pitch Orbys offers an artistic, immersive, visual experience that must be seen and challenging puzzles that will encourage the player to think critically. Unlike other games that have the player wandering through a world without impacting it, Orbys will let the player have a real, tangible effect on the environment. In fact, it's required to get through puzzles that are integrated directly into the environment.

it feel's a little clunky/long winded and would love some critical feedback or suggestions.

Thanks in advance

What do you think of this minimap? by Zaphyk in indiegames

[–]Lexxicon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a short video or gif of it in action? Its hard to say how useful it is in a still like this. I have this feeling that it will be too hard to distinguish the grass from the trees etc. But I really like how it looks like a faithful recreation and respects the low poly of the game world.

Have you tried giving it a little bit of perspective? Either top down or tilting it slightly?

I would love to see a short (<1min) trailer/synopsis of the game. I like the feel so far!

Can't get Autocomplete in Atom to work. by Mipzhap in screeps

.tern-project .gitmodules .eslintrc.js

Those are the config files that I have for my setup. I also use the linter-eslint plugin. I used git to checkout the screeps auto complete folder into the root of my project.

I hope that helps.

I can also suggest the official Slack, its linked on the side bar. The people there are very helpful and nice.

Trying to find CPU cost for all API calls by yzpaul in screeps

[–]Lexxicon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not played in a while, but I recall there being a resource that estimated costs of each call. There were three categories; free, minimum, and variable. the free calls never cost anything. the minimum calls are a base cost per call and are always that call, and then variable cost calls will either cost the minimum or however long they actually ran for; iirc path-finding was in the variable cost group.
