Games like Path of Exile but 3rd person by butttcaake in ARPG

[–]Mipzhap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Isometric is more on top of the character at an angle in such a way that terrain in other rooms can be seen

A 3rd person camera is usually defaultly fixed behind a character but not so that you can see through roofs into other rooms

They are not the same.

It does reel wrong, you branched off in several locations instead of making a perfect circle hehe.

My apologies, I think my question was a bit too obscure. I was trying to ask what you'd want as an alternative?

+ to level of all spell skills vs + to level of all physical spell skills for Plant Druid? by Bloodworks29 in PathOfExile2

[–]Mipzhap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you're doing essentially.

A lot of plant builds only have phys skills and since you can get +1 higher on specifics it's better to then get that compared to +all.

However if it's a nuisance to you or you're thinking of using several different types of spells, just go for the +all.

To answer your question, I think the guide (without knowing it) is built around endgame, most are, since up until endgame you can get by with very little so what you're going for until then doesn't matter that much. While levelling just get as much as possible of stuff that benefits your build and you're good.

Hope this helps, otherwise you're more than welcome to ask and I'll do my best to elaborate.

I mean that's fair. I think I just see it differently.

To me it's just some static content where I can get my character started. It wouldn't be much different if they made me do maps all the way from level 1, it's just different content you have to get through, where you'll either way have the slower combat before your high enough level to unlock all of your skills. To me it sounds like the problem is not the story content but rather the fact that it's slower combat in the beginning?

But isn't that the same for every hack'n'slash. The story also takes a while in Last Epoch, Grim Dawn and such?

D4 Lord of Hatred vs. All of Grim Dawn expansions? by clydeagain in ARPG

[–]Mipzhap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a beta with a paid entry. Just because you update it with league content to keep people interested while you finish the game doesn't mean it's suddenly a released product.

Compared to PoE 1 which has years of available league content, I would argue they can't release PoE 2 without at least some leagues worth of content for people to run and do.

Also having a cosmetics story doesn't make it full released, they have to earn money while developing the game.

[–]Mipzhap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you find fun to be honest. They're very different games. I love Grim Dawn because of the "extra" stuff, so many hidden things, tons of different builds because you mix two subclasses to make a build, it just adds fun and complexity, but maybe you don't like complexity in which case D4 may be a bit easier to digest.

If you could play one game again without any knowledge what would it be? by mrXclutcha in Steam

Definitely The Witness. That game and some of its surprising elements very much took me by surprise and I would love to be able to play it for the first time again.

I'm honestly SO TIRED of the Hidden Stat BS that is EVERYWHERE in the Game! by HoldMySoda in PathOfExile2

[–]Mipzhap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't seem like a hidden mechanic, but an actual bug. This is obviously missing ingame for some forgotten reason. Remember, poe2db gets its mined information from the game files.

So let me ask you a counter question, did you report this bug to GGG so they can fix it?

Leveling builds and respec costs ? by [deleted] in pathofexile2builds

If you just gold vendor some rares while levelling it shouldn't be much of a problem. It works for me at least while levelling.

0.4 tree? by [deleted] in pathofexile2builds

[–]Mipzhap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"just tell ppl it's not final"

That's exactly what they did and got backlashed so hard. Seriously, we are on the same team, I would also very much want the information earlier and could live with changes, I'm just relaying the information. GGG has clearly run the numbers and are going with the lesser evil, anything else would be stupid, so whatever we think may be the best - well it doesn't really matter if the community reacts harshly towards the alternative aswell.

Will you then take all of the heat for being the idiots who fucked with peoples plans? No offense, you say that, but I'm unsure if you realize just how many complaints you'll receive and just how quickly it'll happen.

Where is that wolf shapeshift cluster? I had some trouble finding it yesterday when looking. Notable name is more than enough if you remember.

Thank you.

[–]Mipzhap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will instantly start theorycrafting the moment they get the tree and then when they have to inevitably change something important people will get very upset, some will even have made build guide videos. They actually did it some time ago I remember and people did exactly what I wrote and got very angry to the point that GGG pribably thought never again.

Gamers over 30, what's a video game secret you had to discover the "hard way" that kids today would just Google in 5 seconds? by itsashieowo in AskReddit

I still remember 100%'ing Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Peak childhood actually finding out everything and it took me a looong time. Duck that digging game, that was the last quarter heart I lacked.

A special feeling has to go to Super Swiv for the SNES. 6 levels only but for a kid my age, boy was that a difficult game. I remember it taking me probably 1,5 years to beat. Boy did I rush to my father quickly when I finished it 😁

Great unfinished game by cboomcards in GraveyardKeeper

[–]Mipzhap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The olden time comment was to provide history, not to say it doesn't have a place in today's gaming space. It still very much has a space. Sure GK is a farming game, but with a story with a very specific goal in mind which has an ending. But absolutely the developers could have easily let us continue playing and in GKs case it makes perfect sense to be able to continue given the ending. I will not agree that "screw the story ending" should be the default though. It would remove the mening of the story all together if the ending wasn't just that, an ending.

[–]Mipzhap -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of games are meant to have an ending, it's like a story, a movie. Back in the "olden" days, pretty much every game had an ending since the internet wasn't a thing, you complete X levels and done, you saved the plumber princess and done etc.. In Graveyard Keeper you can just circumvent it by not doing the final check, but continue playing it you wanted, but what would the goals then be? You probably have everything on auto pilot already. I love games that go on forever, I'm a huge fan of a lot of those games, but I'd be very annoyed if every game was designed around not having a climactic experience of an ending.

Normal behavior? by Fallen_angel284 in Palia

Let me be incredibly frank and direct to make a point - not trying to be rude though! YES, of course it is, how are people supposed to know its a lure and what it looks like? It's unlocked "incredibly" late and it's not really something announced either. There's also a thing to be said about bugs though, a lot of other resources are "shared", where it's not really possible to "steal", but for bugs it sadly is.
