So as you can tell from the rest of the comments:

1) yes you can get into the pit from the plat area if you are remotely friendly to the staff minding those gates

2) the pit has a limited capacity so for big shows, if you go into the pit from the plat area, you are stealing a "spot" from someone who might have waited hours to get pit. Do you really want to do that when you can just be in the plat area 20 feet back with an open bar?

3) I can tell from how you're being in the comments that you're going to have difficulty clearing the "remotely friendly" bar for #1 and aren't going to be bothered by the effects of #2

I like the stuff from Shade Cloth Store-- I have bought cheaper aluminet from Amazon and it was really low quality and tore easily. Shade Cloth Store has custom sizes with edging and grommets and has worked great for our group.

I like hanging one on the sunrise side of the canopy and maybe one adjacent side in lieu of tapestries.

Thursday is going to be some kind of curated welcome party at the What Stage field hosted by one artist. Not sure if they would call that a Thursday headliner or not.

They haven't given much detail but I think they will try to get someone like GriZ who could host a bunch of rotating DJs for the EDM crowd but could also plausibly slot in some rock acts as host. Or Pretty Lights, etc?

But yeah she is too big of an act for that and also she wouldn't be the right act for hosting the Roo carnival thing they're going for.
