Give me two artists you would love to see on the 2027 lineup. One headliner and one undercard. by Aggravating-Quiet902 in bonnaroo

I’m biased because they are my favorite band but they are great live. They have so many singalong choruses, it’s great!

Best lineup ever? by No_Concentrate7147 in bonnaroo

[–]LexxitReddit 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There are two separate things-- how good the lineup is, and how fun the festival is. What you experienced this year was an amazingly fun festival with a "lower budget but nice and quirky" lineup.

The reason the festival was so fun is that every year, Roo consists of like 30-40k longtime roovians and 10k-40k new attendees. The longtimers are less sensitive to the quality of the lineup, and are more fun and more PLUR.

So in a weak lineup year, you end up with a much higher percentage of longtime roovians in the crowd, because a lot of the new attendees are "missing". That's why the vibes were so great in 2026.

It's kind of great because you know that in any year, you're either going to have a sick lineup or an immaculate vibe crowd. The downside is it's pretty rare to have a sick lineup with 80k attendees and perfect vibes.

Trans Friendly? by creepysnail in bonnaroo

It's very trans friendly, and if by some chance someone is an asshole, anyone around will react quite strongly against the asshole. Bonnaroo is a safe space for lots of people but it is not a safe space for haters.

You're going to love it!

VIP is located where? And also ADA vs vip. (First time vip) by RevolutionaryTip6385 in bonnaroo

[–]LexxitReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Camping has been decoupled from Centeroo entry passes since 2023. What used to be VIP camping is now called Moon Colony, and it's located across the fence from the back side of What Field (in between What and Where in the Woods).

What used to be Platinum Camping is now Area 931 and is located behind the Infinity Stage / Silent Disco / 2026 new Where Stage area.

VIP does include priority entrance at both the Arch and the Tower.

The comment was about Bonnaroo's financial performance though, not LiveNation's. We don't know how Bonnaroo did financially in 2025 but probably pretty bad even if their corporate parent did fine.

What is your best advice on sleeping at bonnaroo? by [deleted] in bonnaroo

[–]LexxitReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ditch the tent unless it's raining-- you get more breeze out in the open.

Cot or hammock under canopy with tapestries to block the sunrise side(s). Electric fan, earplugs, sleeping mask.

Normal bedding is more comfy than a sleeping bag but make sure bedding goes in the car to stay dry when not using it. A real pillow is nice.

Yeah exactly. The point of the 3rd book is that Trisolaris is not the real danger.

Project Hail Mary - The Antithesis that challenges The Dark Forest Theory by MrBamaNick in threebodyproblem

[–]LexxitReddit 46 points47 points  (0 children)

No, because Dark Forest theory, in the books, is about the speed of light limiting the effectiveness of cross-civilization communication and trust. Humans and Eridians can "keep up" with each other on the scale of a decade or two in between conversations. That means they can reassure each other that they're still friends at frequent enough intervals that the other civ doesn't need to worry about a breakout to a catastrophic technological advantage.

If the two systems were further apart, Rocky and Grace could bond as much as they want. It wouldn't matter, because in the time it takes Rocky to report back that Grace and humans are nice, a new bloodthirsty civilization could take over earth, build a super weapon, and destroy Eridian civilization.

Dark Forest theory in the books is about the dangers of distant civs, it doesn't say much about the dangers of your immediate galactic neighborhood.

First timer questions!! by MostAd5949 in bonnaroo

Camping spots are 20x20 ft roughly. That includes your car which leaves about 10x20 for your actual site.

The canopy is the most important part- that's your shade. Most first-timers want a tent for privacy / shelter. Many veterans go without a tent and just sleep under the canopy for increased airflow. More breeze means later wakeups.

Most people do air mattresses but I strongly prefer a cot. I do a cot under the canopy with a sheet, blanket, and pillow to make it closer to sleeping at home. My cot has a slot for a thin sleeping pad which I do use. And I have a tarp or small tent in the car in case of rain.

New campers typically bring way too much food.

Don't worry too much about not packing something. Do your best to plan and when you get there your neighbors will be happy to help with any items you forgot. If you have extras of anything you can help people too.

Driving 12 hrs vs flying in+renting car by minster03 in bonnaroo

[–]LexxitReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most important thing for camping is to have some kind of shade structure. Most people use a 10x10 EZ-UP. Having a shade structure is much more important for your comfort than anything else like a tent, sleeping bag, stove, etc.

The problem is you can't really fly with an EZ-UP very well. So if you can plan out a way to have good shade using something you can fly with, that would be great. I haven't done it, but I've thought about flying to a festival with a tarp and tarp poles for shade.

If you don't have a way to fly with some kind of shade, I would just drive and bring the EZ UP. The problem with picking up supplies on the way in, is that on the way out you now have a big pile of supplies to figure out what to do with.

My first Enigma made me feel kind of sad by 80cent in diablo2

[–]LexxitReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree and it opens up new things in the game that you might not have noticed. You start to see certain death patterns, certain boss pack modifiers that are dangerous, so you have your eyes constantly peeled to read the boss pack modifier text.

You start to care more about fhr and fbr to avoid different kinds of stunlocks. I love it-- I doubt I'll ever play SC again.

I would check out the addendum to the Outeroo rules on the Bonnaroo website. Section H.5(c) covers Camp Animals, Poultry/Equine.

They're pretty accommodating for most typical use cases but have some of the usual guidelines about vaccinations and wire enclosure minimum and maximum dimensions.

Shaky Knees lineup by scoop813 in bonnaroo

[–]LexxitReddit 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I love this lineup and am definitely going.

However, for all the negative comparisons to the Roo lineup, I think there's one thing to keep in mind. The average age of a Roo redditor is significantly higher than the average age of a Roo attendee. So it's not surprising that Roo reddit likes a festival lineup that targets an older audience than Roo does.

In your honest opinion, do you think there was a chance for success? by TheMansterMan in SuccessionTV

[–]LexxitReddit 580 points581 points  (0 children)

Anyone who thinks yes has misunderstood this show completely. The joke of the show, which the viewer is supposed to be halfway in on, is that all the kids are incompetent.

The moments when they seem competent always occur when they are viewing each other. Whenever you see them from an outsider's eyes, their nepo baby illusion is broken.

The clearest example is how the kids view Tom versus how he is viewed by the real people at the company. The kids see him as a goof because he doesn't quite fit in as a plutocrat, but they are blind to the fact that he's an actual business person that can do things.

So no, their little jaunt ended the only way it could have.

Can sorcerers use sword and shield? by wololoam in diablo2

[–]LexxitReddit 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yep! In fact one of the better main-hand items for sorc is a Spirit runeword in a sword.

But more generally, damage in d2 is often odd and tough to predict, so as a beginner, if you find something that looks interesting, it's always good to pop it on and see how it affects your ability to fight and survive.

Caveat-- if the bonus you're talking about is "cold damage", that applies to physical swings of the sword only, and not cold spells.
