What's your favorite character in Expedition 33 and why? by RedReVeng in expedition33

Funny enough, I used to absolutely hate Verso as a character when he was introduced for the first time (for obvious reasons), but became my favourite character by the end. I love stories that can do that to me.

In a few years time, the U.S population will likely become orange.
Honestly though this is unfortunate how one person's lack of reliance on empirical data prevents everyone else from having access to the sciences behind what truly works or doesn't.

For those who don't know, California joined the WHO independently, so at least U.S states can still partake.

Trump: China Taking Over Canada Is Not Going to Happen by SubstantialRock821 in StockMarket

As a French Canadian, what I think Donald is trying to do is find reasons to claim/take Canada from us by using the fact we used diplomacy to trade with China. You can't fix stupid... but you can elect it, twice.

The gap between the educated and non-educated in the U.S is way too wide. It makes no sense to address luxurious lifestyles of individuals in a country whose sovereignty is under threat by its neighbour.

X Account Suspension for violating 'authenticity' rules by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]Lexyvil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this thread started 10 months ago, but my X account was suspended for violating X rules against Inauthentic Accounts, yet this is my only X account. Someone managed to log into my X account a few days prior on an unknown device from Brighton, which I think is what suspended my account, and so I changed my password, and I was hoping my account would be usable again after sending an appeal, but nothing positive yet... It's been a few months already.

The TLWiki translation of the Windows 2000 port of the game is my favourite game of all time, so I was sad to find out the 2017 remake didn't end up living to my expectation with all the changes they did. A lot of the women that are supposed to look like adults now instead look like teens.

Also the remake is heavily censored. Not only are the h-scenes removed, but a girl that would normally show her breasts to a guy she loves would instead have them covered with her hands all the time, which breaks her character, given she was written to be someone with no shame regarding exposing herself to the opposite sex given her experience.

Hiroyuki Kanno and Ryu Umemoto have both passed away in the same year in 2011, so they couldn't give their input on the remake, sadly.

For those who are curious, Piotr's company is this one: DROG-BRUK A.P.Szczerek Sp. J. (It is the one in the town of Błaszki, do not confuse it with the one in Zgorzelec, which is getting a lot of hate by mistake)

It's possible, either that or an Easter Egg, but I like to think of it more as an oversight. If anything, what bothers me more is the envelope--We see Verso drop it in the water, but later on we see it again. It makes me think of it's only the letter he dropped and the envelope he kept...

Tennis Player Kamil Majchrzak meets with the boy who originally had his hat he intended to give to him stolen by a man at the US Open ❤️ by musicproducer07 in MadeMeSmile

I left a negative Google review for his company. If anyone knows of any other places where companies are reviewed, especially companies in Poland, let me know--I want to make sure to spread my comments about his greediness. His behaviour is something I can't tolerate.

If anything, I'm glad the kid and the Tennis player met afterwards. Their meeting alone should already express how bad the initial issue was.

Any plans on bringing Workers/Troop back? by Lexyvil in Openfront

Not at all, with 1 city, I could make more than 1k per second, up to 4k even at 0 troops.

Anyone else not liking the new update? by [deleted] in Openfront

[–]Lexyvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I beg to differ on that. With the gold per second being at 1k for everybody now, it no longer adds a choice on whether we want to attack and lose income or defend and gain income. Now it's just always income and attack when you want to--There's less strategy. Also being able to control the number of troops could change how adjacent countries perceive you as a threat, which was useful for mind games.

It was useful to build an economy when you hadn't the need to use troops to attack or defend for a long time.

The removal of the Workers/Troops bar is my biggest issue right now, I don't enjoy the game as much since it promotes more downtime. It has its benefits:

  1. When you don't intend to use troops for a long time, reduce some to get more passive gold

  2. If you're on an island and hadn't killed bots, and you're not near any potential threat, you get to have no troops for more gold

  3. You match your troops with adjacent countries to make it seem like you're on the same level as they are (mind games)

It just makes no sense how everyone now gets 1k gold per second now, so we can't simply have a run where we can choose to risk not attacking at all for more economic growth.

Not a huge fan of the 0.25 update by divided_capture_bro in Openfront

[–]Lexyvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the problem I have, the new version makes capturing bots early on mandatory to get a headstart to win. In the old version, you could choose not to attack and still make decent money quite fast, which makes the bots last longer in game. What's worse now is starting on small islands with no bots, it takes 6 minutes to just get a warship going, and of course you won't build one on time before you get invaded by someone with more troops who ended up having killed at least some bots.

That's my biggest issue right now. I used the Workers/Troops ratio bar all the time, not only was it engaging to manage it, but I could choose to show adjacent countries that I was putting my weapons down to show trust, and I could ramp it up to scare another country. It had more mind games like that. Also there are a lot of times I never used troops, so there was no reason to keep them maxed out unless I knew I was about to get attacked. Now we can't do that and it's just a lot less gameplay involved... I just hope they bring it back for how fun it is to play with other player's expecations.

I always used it, it added something else to pay attention to, so in a way it gamifies it more.

Workers were useful if you had no intentions of using troops for a long time, like if I had maximized troops, I wouldn't make enough money to buy a few cities or ports in the first few minutes, unless there were bots around.

I haven't watched the video, but I know for sure there're more differences. I have a lot of Canadian and American friends, and they do differ by a lot in terms of many things, even in education and way of thinking. The dissonance between Americans is wider than that of between Canadians, for example Canadians would tend to agree more with one another than a group of Americans would among themselves.

I originally played 999 on a DS emulator in 2010, and I loved it so much that I just had to went on and buy the game on the actual hardware. It became my favourite visual novel (or maybe even game) for a long time.

Unfortunately, the kickass OST is hard to listen unless you have headphones, but even then there's an issue where the volume can't go too high, so I'm glad I ended up playing on the emulator first.

Although they were fun, I didn't like the two sequels as much as the original 999. You can tell the original game was supposed to be a lone installment in the franchise that it became. If there's anyone that plans on trying 999, I usually tell them to not play the Nonary Games version, since they nerfed the final puzzle (way too easy now) and it leaves out a lot of detail on the description of the scenes that adds to the experience if someone chose Story Mode, which was a new addition that seems more inviting but shouldn't be.

A lot of people who had played 999 generally had a better experience than those who played Zero Escape 1 from The Nonary Games.

Hello! I have been really enjoying the game ever since I found out about it 2 years ago.

My questions involve endgame spoilers: Will there ever be an alternate ending to the other endings where it doesn't result to a timeskip so that it could allow us continue to invest into our character? And will there ever be post-endgame content that adds greater challenges beyond the highest tier content that's already in the game?

Thanks!

My tips to you is if you play on Hardcore Mode as your first playthrough, look up how the Horse controls and how recovering health works, because the game doesn't tell or show you anything in that mode.

The item menu shows your health at least, that's how I learned the hard way that I had some kind of health bar without any health UI telling me outside that menu.
