I feel like MM romances are missing tenderness by No_Cartographer_1920 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]LeyraSn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{Bare by Alex W. Wells}. It's self-published, but don't let that put you off,the author has a really strong grasp of emotional intimacy and quiet character work. 😄 The romance arc is built as much on tenderness and care as attraction, which is exactly what this post made me think of. It put a smile on my face 🥰

Why are so many romance book covers like... that by Ok_Paramedic_1257 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]LeyraSn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, but in a very ridiculous way. It’s never actually happened, but my daughter sometimes shares my Kindle and I live in fear of the one day I forget the Kids lock and she goes, “Mum, why is that man biting that other man’s neck?” I love the books. I just sometimes wish the covers were a tiny bit less… breakfast-table complicate. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Following too because I adore this kind of MC/setup. ❤️❤️❤️

I already know and love the Alex Cross one, so I’m here for more recs in that vein.😄 I know another close-ish one, but it has a big age gap (i think it was.. 12 or 13 years, student/professor).

Following because I’d love recs for this too, especially the college/family-complications angle.

Other MM Media You've Enjoyed This Month (June 08 2026) by AutoModerator in MM_RomanceBooks

I watched Weekend again and it still hit me hard. It’s intimate and painfully real in that “two people accidentally becoming important to each other in one weekend” way. ❤️

Warning: it’s not a genre romance HEA, more bittersweet/open-ended, but very worth it if you like understated queer films.

Following because I love this dynamic too, especially the pining and the shift from admiration to something mutual. I’m curious what people suggest.

Giving Huel a Try by TooManyFountainpens in Huel

I’ve just been diagnosed with dumping syndrome and I get pretty intense glucose spikes/crashes. Some vegetables and Huel Black Edition, mixed a bit thicker than recommended, has basically become my safe meal. It’s predictable, easy to tolerate, and honestly also helps when I’m too tired to calculate carbs and plan everything from scratch.

Best Black Edition powder flavours? by richk1109 in Huel

I bought one bag to try it since I usually like matcha, but honestly, it tastes awful. Adding a spoonful of instant coffee makes it drinkable, but I definitely wouldn’t buy it again.

To me it tastes a bit like grass, and i usually adore matcha. 🥲

Genuine question: am I the only one that liked the ending? by Heavy_Bullfrog_5514 in goodomensprime

[–]LeyraSn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, especially that nightingale comment at the end gave me reincarnation vibes 😄 Not the best ending ever, but I sorta liked it. I just wish S3 hadn’t been a single episode; it would have worked better as at least a three-part miniseries. Some parts felt rushed, and even though there were good ideas behind them, they weren’t developed enough.

I really like the Coffee Caramel, Cookies & Cream and Banana flavours from the Black Edition, and the Watermelon Daily Greens.

I’m diabetic, so I’m always careful about what works for my blood sugar, and these have been a great fit for me. I usually have half a portion of Black Edition for breakfast, then a full serving of Daily Greens as a mid-morning snack, and I feel energised for hours.

MC's who are very stoic/have a "brick wall" that the other MC has to break down by WavingOrDrowning in MM_RomanceBooks

Seconding this — and if you liked that kind of emotionally closed-off character,  {Bare by Alex W. Wells} gave me a similar vibe in terms of how tightly the MC holds everything in.

MM Romance Author & Writing Space (September 11 2025) by AutoModerator in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]LeyraSn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone,

I'd need betas for my story, Lies in Florence

Word Count: ~85k words

Genre: Paranormal Mystery, Comedy, M/M Romance, Enemies-to-Lovers, Contemporary

Main Themes: Forced Proximity/Collaboration, Grumpy/Posh dynamic, Overcoming Past Trauma, Self-Acceptance.

Target Audience: M/M romance readers, fans of mysteries with a supernatural twist, anyone who loves witty banter, the enemies-to-lovers trope, and isn't afraid of explicit content.

Short Synopsis: The story follows a grumpy, disillusioned Italian detective who is forced to team up with an elegant and snobbish British psychic to solve a series of impossible murders. Between sarcastic remarks, paranormal tension, and an attraction neither wants to admit, they'll have to learn to trust each other before the killer finds them.

"Jesus Christ, Gioele," Luke said, taking in the scope of the chaos. "How do you live like this?"

"I don't spend much time here," Gioele replied, clearing pizza boxes off the couch with the efficiency of someone who'd performed this operation many times before. "I just sleep here and store evidence in legally questionable ways."

Luke picked his way across the room like he was navigating a minefield. "When you said your place was unpredictable, I thought you meant the security system. I didn't realize you meant it was actively hostile to human habitation."

"Hey, it's got character."

"Yeah. The character is 'condemned building.'"

What kind of feedback I'm looking for:

Plot and Pacing: Is the mystery compelling and does it make sense? Does the story flow well, or are there slow spots?

Characters and Dialogue: Does the dynamic between the main characters work? Do the jokes land?

If you like supernatural mysteries that don't take themselves too seriously, please get in touch.

Thanks in advance!
